We're loving the photos coming in from our volunteer project in Denali National Park! 🏔 This was our 4th year working on new trail construction of the 10-mile Nenana River Trail. Our volunteers have contributed hundreds of hours to this project, and we're excited to see it nearing completion!

Do you want to help keep Oak Creek clean? Join Keep America Beautiful & Wilderness Volunteers for an Oak Creek clean-up event on Saturday, October 3rd generously hosted by Love, Tito’s!

📅 Saturday, October 3rd
🕒 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
📍 Meet at the Oak Creek Visitor Center, Oak Creek Canyon
🗑️ Help pick up litter in Oak Creek Canyon! After a brief orientation, we will break up into small groups, led by Crew Leaders, and clean up trash in high priority areas throughout Oak Creek Canyon.
🧤 All clean-up supplies will be provided!
🥾 Please wear closed-toed, comfortable hiking shoes and a hat. Long pants and long sleeves are recommended. Light snacks and water will be provided.

We were so stoked to partner with Tahoe Area Mountain Biking Association on an all-women’s backcountry trail building project this summer! ⛏️🏔️🚴‍♀️

Our volunteer crew helped build about a quarter mile of new trail, including installing 3 extensive rock paths, removing duff, crushing 40 gallons of rock, creating new tread, and lopping overgrown trail sections.

What an amazing week with a super strong group of women! 💪

Our thoughts are with Grand Canyon National Park, the friends and families of those who lost their lives in this flash flood, those still unnacounted for, and the Park employees. 💙

PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUESTED

The National Park Service is asking the public to provide information for more than 20 individuals who may be missing or unaccounted for following a significant flash flood in Bright Angel Canyon and the Phantom Ranch area on August 29.

If you know of hikers or backpackers who were in the Bright Angel Creek corridor on August 29, or if you had a campground reservation in the affected area, please contact the NPS Investigative Services Branch (ISB).

This includes people who may have been:
• Traveling the North Kaibab Trail from the North Kaibab Trailhead to Phantom Ranch
• Staying at Bright Angel Campground or Cottonwood Campground
• Traveling through “the Box” north of Phantom Ranch

Project recap from our volunteer project in Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks! 🤩

Our volunteers spent the week in SEKI removing bull thistle and foxglove from Giant Forest Grove and Grant Grove meadows, as well as removing orchard grass and Jerusalem oak in two areas.

The final tallies of invasive plant removal were:
🪻Bull thistle: 6,624 plants and rosettes from four different locations (~6 acres)
🌷Foxglove: 12,606 plants and rosettes from four different locations (~ 6.5 acres)
🌾Orchard grass: 1,838 plants over 2 acres
🌱Jerusalem Oak: 7,750 plants from along the side of the Crystal Cave road (~0.28 acres)

We're excited to share photos from our recent project in Bryce Canyon National Park! 🤩 Our volunteers spent the week working on fuel reduction and removing brush from prairie dog mounds to help their colonies thrive better in the meadows. So awesome!

We’re continuing our 🎉National Park Week🎉 celebration with a little throwback! We can’t believe it’s been 7 years since we’ve volunteered in Arches National Park!! 🤯 We can’t wait to go back this fall - and hope you can join us!

Visit this iconic national park and spend the week of October 25th-31st removing invasive tamarisk in high priority sections of Courthouse Wash.

This is a front country project: we will be camping in a designated campground.

We're continuing our celebration of 🎉National Park Week🎉 with a recap of our Lassen Volcanic National Park project. This project focused on removing trees and saplings in two meadows. That might sound counterintuitive - but keeping meadows tree-free and thriving is vital to restoring proper ecosystem balance within the Park, and this project was a high priority for our NPS partners!

Our 12-person volunteer crew took out nearly 22,000 lodgepole pine trees and saplings (under 10 ft.) in just 4 days! 🤯 This work will help maintain the meadows' biodiversity. 🌿
