Our Summer 2026 Newsletter is here, and it's full of good news from across the Navajo Nation. π‘
This issue introduces three new Program Coordinators joining Red Feather: Alicia Yazzie-Summers, Calvin Monroe, and Sharon Adrian-Begay. Each brings deep cultural knowledge and lived experience on Navajo Nation, and we're so glad they're part of this work.
You'll also read about the families behind our Healthy Home Repairs work this summer:
In Tuba City, a family of eight got a finished addition with three bedrooms and a bathroom, ending years of overcrowding.
In Tonalea, a homeowner got an accessible bathroom built around his needs, including the first time his family got to paint a room their own chosen color.
In Navajo Mountain, a Veteran and his wife got a new roof, wood stove, and accessible entry, upgrades that will serve them for years to come.
In Shonto, a family finally got the roof they needed but couldn't afford, thanks to grant funding and a Navajo-owned contractor.
None of this happens without our contractor partners: Rocket Builds, Bright Lines, Stay Grounded, and LCR.
We also want to thank the volunteers who spent July 30th at the Tolani Lake Chapter House building woodsheds for firewood storage. A group of 13 volunteers, mostly young women ages 14 to 16 who fundraised over $2,500 for the project, built three sheds from the ground up in a single day. Those sheds are already loaded with firewood and delivered to families for winter.
To everyone who makes this work possible: our funders, donors, volunteers, and community partners, thank you. Read the full newsletter here:
