United Way of Northern Arizona is monitoring this situation and wants to thank the American Red Cross for its quick response.
The American Red Cross will open a shelter for Pocket Fire evacuees at 10 p.m. tonight at Sedona Red Rock High School, 955 Upper Red Rock Loop Rd.
The shelter will support residents and visitors displaced by the fire impacting Oak Creek Canyon. Red Cross shelter services include meals, snacks, water, health support and information about additional resources for individuals and families who have been evacuated from their homes or campsites and need a safe place to stay.
Coconino County Health and Human Services has arranged for High Country Humane to temporarily take small pets while their families are staying at the shelter.
