We held and supported two grieving Mother’s Day events this last week with the help of and ❤️‍🔥

At wrote notes of lifting up on the altar and flower tower of love 🥰 🌸🌺🌹🌼
Took care of ourselves with some aromatherapy packs, and enjoyed clensing sounds from 🌞

hosted an amazing night of storytelling and testimony of the journey- lifelong- of grief and how we can transform through it ✨ with AMAZING musical talents. I also got to sit next to my grief support family members who we work with in the summer. Mom and daughter team- Tacara and Tamiya of and of ✨

I was so grateful for all of the other events I saw happening in the city this last week to lift up this feeling of heartache; and of pure LOVE to ever even witness and experience even just moments of being held and guided by the moms in our lives. We’re doing it y’all. We’re making space for grief but more importantly our LOVE. And RAGE. And all the other emotions that grief as a feeling can bring. Proud of us. Proud of you.

Sending love to all the grieving mothers and children. The ones being killed and starved by genocidal states & governments; the ones being stolen by ICE; families suffering from incarceration; or simply their mom isn’t in the physical form they need want, imagine and/or know/knew them by. The caregivers mothering their mothers! ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🩹💔❤️‍🩹❤️‍🔥

Listen to your heart mind and body today. If you have a plan; be cool with breaking it. Live and love for them AND yourself; that could mean laying in bed; enjoying a certain snack or meal or celebrating YOU and/or someone else in your life.

Grief comes in all forms; workers not being paid a (well) living wage is one of them! Thank you to all of our unions and everyday people for standing up and fighting for a fair and thriving pay and working conditions…INCLUDING appropriate paid bereavement time after a loved one dies in your life. Rage is a sacred part of grief. Let it be transformative to move us towards compassionate action! is one of the amazing orgs doing some work around this. So much gratitude to you all.

Remember: we love you; showing up for others and yourself is what life is all about ✨ in the hardest of times and the best. Come make some grief comrades this month ❤️‍🔥

Come one, come all. Bring your friends; kin and chosen family to our 2nd All Ages Drop In Grief and Joy event ✨✨✨💖💖💖

We will have our photo printer out again to create memorializations of our loved ones who have ascended or are simply no longer at our side as we’d wish them to be.

We will also have the amazing of with us and you to create joyful heartfelt moments of awe; giggles and FUN.

Thanks to the Williams rec center for hosting us again; we’ll be hanging from 2-4 pm so come on through.

We are SO excited to welcome author; writer; mover; shaker; FRIEND .darnell to visit our grief group on this upcoming Wednesday ✨

We will be doing a signed book 📕 giveaway (and also have some to sell) to celebrate all of the amazing humans/souls that are lifted up in his book::: AND the knowledge he shares with us on his path of death doula-ing. AND of course do some grieving, loving and transforming in community along the way.

Such gratitude that will be feeding our hearts and souls with vegan Mexican food- some really fu***ng good vegan Mexican food.

Thanks for your patience with us this last month; some grief, growth and no doubt change is happening at GG’s House and we appreciate your grace and support through it all.

Aaaaahhhhh after having to postpone and cancel our January group; we have definitely missed seeing you all. We are happy to announce that group is happening this week!

Come enjoy some pizza; company and healing through our grief; together. Low key karaoke on the stage and flower bouquet making at the end will be an option per usual. Feel free to bring a store bought treat to share for dessert if you’d like.

Fresh altar will be there to give love to our ancestors ❤️‍🔥
Come lift them up if that’s the only thing you come to group to do- and maybe eat some pizza 🪽☺️🍕

Hey Friends::Unfortunately there is some personal grief and change that came up which we need to tend to this week. So group will be canceled, again, which crushes a little bit of my heart I have to say. Thank you for your patience and care❤️‍🔥

I know this is a time where we need to be in community more than ever. If you were planning to come; think about having your own mini gathering and/or sacred space for your own heart and grief and ancestral reverence/connection to exist.

This is a time of grieving realities for some; collective and ancestral grief of current traumas that new generations are facing with the atrocities of ICE. It’s may also be a time of wanting to ask DO YOU SEE NOW for others who have been feeling/witnessing the consequences of the white supremacy our country was literally built upon for a long time now. Your grief is valid whatever you are feeling; we are all growing and learning- be kind to yourself. Grief is political and we must integrate and carry this while we also balance the will and call to act. Remember that grief can bring lots of “up” and “down” energy. Notice how your body feels, what it needs. Feed and drink it with healthy and warming food and drink. Find ways to release/express/transform the energy into action(s) that are best for you.

Tend or add to your ancestral altar(s); read about the grieving brain; eat an ancestors favorite food (spoil yourself with ; create/express through some art; go to an ICE alert training; go to a boxing class; donate some money to an org you know is fighting for freedom; take a long steamy shower or bath. Ask a neighbor or friend to eat together with you. Go to nature- belle isle conservancy or nature center is a good stop. Make a list of things you know are good for you to do and put it somewhere visible so you can remember to act on them.

Similar to when I say “There’s no us without you”; I also like to say- “We are all we’ve got”. Let’s show up for ourselves, our ancestors and each other.
