Come be with us in our new spot to round out 2026; where all types of grief can have space to breathe The LOVE Building

🌞We are so grateful to have another Communty hub open their doors and hearts to us. The big difference between this space and The Congregation is that it is all happening in the community room on the first floor, no stairs! 🌞

Come be with myself, Julie of Weathervane Grief Doula & Facilitator and our good friend Patrece of Patrece M. Lucas, MS, LPC and CoffeeWithACounselor as we settle in with some music and then circle up for some optional sharing. Fresh Flower bouquets 💐 always round out our night with some more music as well.

Feel free to bring an item or photo for our community altar. You can leave it with us for next month or take it back home when you depart.

Big thanks to Grandma Bobs Pizza for providing love by the way of pizza. Pizza is the favorite food of a beloved newly gained ancestor, Curtis Renee ❤️‍🔥 I know I’ll joyfully think of them with every slice.

🍁Autumn came, and went; and will come again. I hope you get your bones into the sunshine this week 🌞

Come hang out with us at our new fall/winter home in The LOVE Building 💜 we are so happy and grateful to settle into this new space with you. A building of love is a beautiful place for grief to just; be. This is a fully accessible space located in the Communty room on the first floor 🧡

Later in the month when autumn will surely/maybe return 🙃🤪 we will have a fundraiser yoga class on the open air second floor space of Coriander Kitchen and Farm with Markie ✨ Yoga Instructor + Intuitive Astrologer so we can keep providing quality care to our GG’s House family. Limited spots so register early and save one for yourself and a friend via our eventbrite page ❤️‍🔥

Big news: all of our events will now be listed on Eventbrite!! Be on the lookout to follow us there and hopefully we see you in person soon.

The Travel in Peace Documentary and track release of Breathe was amazing ❤️‍🔥 we were so honored to support the panel of artists who spoke on grief and their creative and human process of being and transforming. We (Got Grief House or GG’s House) were also so excited to be in the The LOVE Building, our future home for grief groups starting October.

This adult drop in grief group will be at The Congregation for the last time in 2026!! Patrece M. Lucas, MS, LPC and Weathervane Grief Doula & Facilitator are co-facilitating 💞 We will be moving to The LOVE Building for our October, November, December groups ❤️‍🔥

Lastly, a second part of the “Tending to our Burning Hearts” series- Primordial Movement in the AmericanRiad (the Riad)

Happy (question mark?) National Grief Awareness Month…something we’ll all go through that we (and those who love us/we love) may not have enough resources, practices and awareness around. GG’s House is trying to change that.

Our mission is to normalize grief; and grieving in community. That’s the way it was once; and you all are helping it be that way again! Every dollar you donate goes toward sustaining FREE grief support for Detroiters of all ages. We hold monthly grief groups, quarterly drop in groups and a full family summer program. Every dollar counts towards keeping these programs alive!

So; you see the instructions. Donate by the link in bio; the Instagram donation button OR at our website. Then; feel free to use one of the slides after this main page- screen shot it and layer over the grief or person that died in your own life with a picture or simply just a name.

We’re trying to hit a quick $3,000 in the name of lifting up how much we all DESERVE access to quality mental health. To grief groups held by therapists and community healers; and each other.

Big gratitude helping us fill the bag of love/resources to help counter all this inevitable grief we all have/are or will go through. ❤️‍🔥

If you didn't know that August is National Grief Awareness month, you do now. We truly and deeply feel that grief can be interweaved in our lives in so many ways.

We are grateful for all of these organization that wanted to partner with us this month to bring people together to heal! Collaboration and Community is everything.
