Join us Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026 for a full day of learning, networking and inspiration.

Detroit Writing Room coaches will lead workshops and panel talks covering topics such as publishing options, finding an agent, marketing your book, copyright and trademark, and more!

Editors from Wayne State University Press, University of Michigan Press and Michigan State University Press will also share best practices for pitching to publishers and the types of manuscripts they’re seeking.

The conference includes time to network with editors, Detroit Writing Room coaches and fellow writers.

Coaching Detroit Forward's College Application Essay Writing Workshop Series is returning this fall and the last day to apply is June 1! 🎓

In two workshops led by coach Danielle Alexander, Detroit high school students will brainstorm, outline and write at least one college application essay.

The Michigan Central Girls STEAM Summit 2026 is happening Saturday, March 14 at NewLab, bringing together middle school girls and their families for a day of hands-on STEAM learning, mentorship and career exploration.
