Makin' Groceries
by Mayor Mark

By now, you are aware of the statues placed around town. Big Thanks to Lisa Ward and Danny Saladino of the Covington Public Art Fund and Visit the Northshore (the Parish tourism arm) for arranging for the lease of these pieces for one year. No city tax dollars were used in this endeavor.

Personally, I enjoy the pieces. I particularly enjoy "stumbling" upon them and/or being fooled by their life-likeness. Hence, I prefer no "map." If you would like a map, check with the Southern Hotel lobby or online.

Side note: Funding for Covington Public Art is derived from White Linen for Public Art. Sometimes, supporting the community simply means going out for a good time : ). In this case, there have also been some generous donors and there is a need for a few more. For more on the story: Art Imitates Life
