Isang Bansang Pilipino (IBP) is the official Filipino-American Student Association of Oregon State University. IBP is open to all who are interested, whether you are of Filipino descent or if you just want to learn about the culture. We strive to educate the Oregon State University community as well as the surrounding communities about the Filipino Culture through annual performances, food presentations, social events, our yearly culture night, and other workshops. IBP also seeks to provide a strong support base for - but not limited to - the Filipino youth at OSU and the Corvallis community. Hey IBPeeps!

If any of you didn’t know, October is Filipino-American history month. We as Filipino-Americans celebrate October as the first month our cultures met in what is now the Morro Bay area. Since then, our peoples and cultures have greatly influenced each other in many ways, sparking worldwide change in anything from global pop sensation Bruno Mars to food chains such as Jollibee and McDonalds! We celebrate and use this month as a reminder as to how unity and respect for each other’s cultures improves the lives of both parties.

We hope you enjoy the brief history lesson in this post. Happy Filipino-American Heritage Month!
