Whether you've been following the Crazy Town podcast for a while or you're just trying to stay sane in our collapsing techno-industrial, politically incompetent civilization, this event is for you.

Join us on Tuesday, June 23, for a live Crazy Town Hall. You'll get to hang with the Crazy Town hosts, Jason Bradford, Asher Miller, and Rob Dietz, listen to their bad dad jokes, and even hear some tips for building community resilience in the face of it all.

We want you there! Secure your spot: https://www.resilience.org/stories/2026-05-19/crazy-town-hall-2026/

Feeling overwhelmed, lost, or even pessimistic about the state of the world?

We surveyed our community on how they stay with the trouble and remain grounded in possibility for the future.

If this post resonates with you, please join us for our free, online event on May 28. Dr. Katharine Wilkinson will lead us in a conversation on how to harness the power of "Climate Wayfinding" to move forward in our climate journeys with greater clarity, connection, and purpose.

Live online event next week!

Gaya Herrington (internationally known sustainability researcher and wellbeing economist) will host Nate Hagens (energy and systems expert, host of "The Great Simplification" podcast) and Kumi Naidoo (renowned environmental and human rights leader, president of the Fossil Fuel Treaty Initiative) in a conversation on the ripple effects from the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, and how it has laid bare our society's dependence on crude oil and natural gas.

The alarm around fossil fuels has been sounding for decades, but what may be different now? Tune in to hear them put the current moment in perspective.

One way to feel more connected with nature is to learn about the flora and fauna living in your local ecosystem. But do we lose track of our original intention when it becomes obsessive or competitive?

In the latest Crazy Town episode, "Birdbrained: When Nature and Technology Collide," we pick on our resident bird geek, Jason Bradford, and discuss how even the most gentle of shared passions can get corrupted by status-fueled greed.

Kristin Sponsler and Simone Osborn, the long-time editors of Resilience, are stepping down.

We at Post Carbon Institute want to take this opportunity to appreciate them and their enormous, long-standing contribution. They’ve helped shape a worldview that values community, systems thinking, and environmental responsibility. We’re incredibly grateful to have worked with them and deeply inspired by the impact they have had on so many people over the years. Between 2008 and 2026, Kristin and Simone presided over two major site redesigns and saw Resilience persist and grow while many other environmental news sites disappeared. They have managed our platform quietly and competently, daily sorting through vast amounts of potential content to feature the most important topics and the best writing available. We will be forever grateful.

Even as we say a bittersweet farewell to Simone and Kristin and close this chapter of Resilience, we are excited to open the next chapter and welcome Shantal Otchere as our new managing editor.

Shantal brings a wealth of journalistic experience, including managing digital weekly editions of NOW Magazine, editing and publishing works for a variety of nonprofit organizations, and founding For All Living Things, an independent publication that covers environmental, animal, and human rights. Her understanding of the polycrisis, her dedication to intelligent reporting, and her experience with crafting accessible narratives make her an ideal managing editor to carry forward the outstanding work Simone and Kristin began in 2008.

Forests are complex, living systems that communicate, cooperate, and nurture one another. They have so much to teach us if we take the time to listen.

On March 26, Dr. Nalini Nadkarni and Dr. Teresa Ryan will join our online event to detail the intricate relationships at play within forests, how to communicate the value forests bring to all beings, and how we can all be better stewards of these precious ecosystems.
