Today we enjoyed a cultural presentation about Diwali: the Festival of Lights. We heard about the storiesNd figured being celebrated. We learned about traditions celebrated in India and Pakistan. We ate delicious food and tea, and we had an opportunity to receive henna. Finally each table discussed how light is used to celebrate in other religions and cultures around the world. Please come join us at the carousel, baby shower, and the Thanksgiving and Christmas presentations this fall!

It was a wonderful and insightful discussion about Third Culture Kids (TCKs)! 🌍

We explored the challenges of growing up between cultures, navigating multiple identities, and finding a sense of belonging while staying connected to our roots and traditions.

We also exchanged ideas on how to help our children embrace multiple cultures while preserving our family traditions, values, and cultural heritage.

A special thank you to Kara Oyer, Sarah King, and Isabel Juarez Lopez for generously sharing their personal experiences and valuable insights from growing up as TCKs. Their stories deepened our understanding of the joys and challenges of growing up between cultures and offered meaningful perspectives for us as parents. ❤️

Join IMG this week as we talk about raising third culture kids (TCKs)!! 🌍

You might be wondering, “What is a third culture kid?” A TCK is a person who spends a large part of their childhood growing up in a culture different from their parents’ home country or passport culture.  In other words, if you are an international mom raising your family in the Corvallis area, your children are TCKs!! 🤓

Our guest speaker, Marcianne Koetje, Coordinator of Multilingual Programs at Corvallis School District, will share tips on how to navigate culture and identity with your kids as they grow up in a culture or country different than the one you grew up in. ♥️

We are back! 💕 Our first meeting after the summer break was awesome!

It was wonderful to see all the moms again after such a long time.

We’re here to support and empower moms on their parenting journey by connecting them with community resources, building confidence, learning together, and growing stronger as a community. 💕🌸

A special thanks to Vanessa for sharing helpful information about local resources available to moms and families in Corvallis and how they can support moms in their parenting and personal growth journey. 🌸💕
