What a wonderful presentation we had about Turkiye culture! We learned so much about their rich traditions, delicious food, craft, and beautiful clothing. It was heartwarming to see the moms from Turkiye sharing their culture with so much love and enthusiasm.
Everyone truly enjoyed listening to their stories and experiences. The homemade baklava was absolutely delicious, and the Turkish tea added such a special touch to the experience. It was a joyful and memorable time filled with warmth, love, and cultural connection.

Today we had an Art Day at OSU International Moms Group, exploring the beautiful world of alcohol ink with local artist Sharon Grover.

Alcohol ink is a vibrant, alcohol-based medium that is wonderfully unpredictable and hard to control, which made the experience even more fun. We worked on Yupo paper, a special surface that lets the ink flow freely and create organic, colorful patterns.

It was inspiring to see each mom express creativity so openly, experimenting with colors, following imagination, and turning feelings into unique pieces of art. Every piece reflected joy, learning, and personal expression.

Beyond being a creative activity, the session also felt calming and therapeutic. Letting go of control and simply working with color brought relaxation, motivation, and connection among everyone. It was truly a joyful and uplifting experience.

We will be exploring alcohol ink with Sharon Grover, a local artist. It is a vibrant, alcohol-based medium that can be difficult to control but is very fun to play with. We will be using a special paper called Yupo, which allows the ink to flow quickly and smoothly. Because the ink can stain clothing, please bring an apron to wear or clothes you don‘t mind getting messy.

❌Please do not bring children who are mobile in the meeting room. Since this type of art uses ink and alcohol that can be very messy and not safe for children, we will not allow children, who are mobile, in the community hall. Babies who can be contained in a stroller or baby carrier are welcome to stay with their moms.

Had an absolute blast at the Moms Dance Party! 💃✨ An evening filled with dancing, learning new steps, cheering each other on, and enjoying fun little contests that brought endless smiles. The delicious food, beautiful candle decorations, and lively music made the night feel truly magical.

Sometimes, all we really need is a small pause from our everyday routines.. a chance to laugh freely, connect with one another, and simply enjoy the moment. These little moments of joy do so much for our mental well-being. And when mothers feel happy, supported, and refreshed, that positivity flows into their families too.

With Mother’s Day around the corner, this felt like a beautiful gift for every mom. OSU International Moms Group is always there to empower, support, and motivate women through friendship and togetherness. 💖

Our Mother’s Day celebration at OSU International Moms Group was filled with warmth, joy, and beautiful cultural exchange. Moms from around the world shared how Mother’s Day is celebrated in their home countries, and we learned about traditions from China, Japan, India, Afghanistan, Brazil, and Africa. It was a wonderful reminder of how beautifully diverse motherhood is across cultures.

We also learned flower origami and bouquet arrangement techniques from a Korean mom, creating lovely bouquets surrounded by fresh blooms, laughter, and meaningful conversations. The day was truly unforgettable, filled with happiness, creativity, and the fragrance of fresh flowers.

Wishing every mom a very Happy Mother’s Day — your love makes the world brighter. 🌸

Stay tuned with IMG.
