Please say a prayer for the persons below, and note your name in the comments section. Prayers & Squares will then complete the prayer square knots, tied to represent the prayers of those who participated online. We’ll provide a list of the names to the recipients. Our ministry has always been about Congregational prayers—you do not need to personally know the prayer quilt recipient to offer a prayer for their comfort. Past recipients have attested to the power of prayer from complete strangers as well as loved ones. We know this to be true, evidenced by the Prayers & Squares motto: “It’s not about the quilt, it’s about the prayers.”

🎬☀️ Summer Starts This Sunday at First Community! ☀️🎬

A brand-new sermon series and the return of worship under the tent make this a Sunday you won't want to miss!

Beginning June 7, we'll kick off Hope Is a Dangerous Thing, a four-week worship series inspired by some of cinema's most beloved films. Together we'll explore redemption, love, grace, courage, and the power of hope through scripture and stories that have touched generations.

🎥 June 7 – The Shawshank Redemption
🎥 June 14 – Frozen
🎥 June 21 – E.T.
🎥 June 28 – Casablanca

And the tent is back!

Starting this Sunday, our summer worship schedule begins:

⛺ 9:00 a.m. – FC North (under the tent)
🏛️ 10:00 a.m. – FC South
🏛️ 11:00 a.m. – FC North

Please note that the 9:00 a.m. tent service will not be livestreamed, but it will be available to watch Sunday morning on our YouTube channel.

Because of the many moving parts involved with setting up the outdoor worship space, a weather decision for this Sunday will be made on Friday. We'll let everyone know then whether worship will take place under the tent or indoors.

❤️ On your way into worship this Sunday, be sure to drop off non-perishable food donations for Heart to Heart. Reusable red donation bags and information about the ministry will be available outside worship spaces to help you remember for next month—or you can drop off donations anytime.

Whether you're joining us under the open sky, at FC South, or at FC North, we hope you'll make worship part of your summer rhythm. And summer is the perfect time to invite a friend!

Serving Together

On Monday, April 20, First Community staff came together to serve supper at Friends of the Homeless as part of the Monday Night Meals Ministry. Staff members donated food, baked desserts, prepared the meal, and served alongside one another in a beautiful act of compassion and community.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share kindness, hospitality, and hope with our neighbors — and thankful for everyone who helped make the evening possible.

Good morning, First Community! ☀️

We can’t wait to worship with you today for MorningSong at 9 & 11 am at FC North.

This special service of music, readings, prayer, and congregational singing will feature a full orchestra, choir, and beloved hymns throughout the morning.

The congregation will be invited to sing throughout the service as we celebrate gratitude, hope, wonder, and God’s faithfulness together.

Following 11 am worship, please join us in Wing Grace Hall for a special reception honoring Patti Link and celebrating her 50 years of faithful service to First Community Church as she enters retirement.

Tomorrow is MorningSong at First Community North — and you won’t want to miss it.

Join us at 9 or 11 am for a beautiful service of music, readings, prayer, and congregational singing featuring a full orchestra, choir, and some of the most beloved hymns of the church including:
✨ Great Is Thy Faithfulness
✨ Be Thou My Vision
✨ All Creatures of Our God and King

This special worship experience invites the congregation to sing throughout the service as we celebrate gratitude, hope, wonder, and faithfulness together. There will be no sermon, creating space to fully experience worship through music and word.

Following the 11 am service, everyone is invited to a special reception in Wing Grace Hall honoring Patti Link’s 50 years of faithful service to First Community Church as she enters retirement.

Please note: There will be no 10 am service at FC South tomorrow.
