I have seen lots of interest lately. We were once a. Wry active and established group. We even had our non-profit 501c3 in place. Unfortunately, key members of the group went to another watershed group or simply disappeared.

If there are enough people committed to make this group whole again, we would love to hear from you. Just reply to this post so we can measure the number of people willing to make a difference.

The original Friends of the Scioto River no longer exists. However, I think it is worth reviving. We need committed volunteers with a passion for protecting the Scioto River watershed.

In the past, we focused on trash cleanups and invasive species removal. While those items are still very important, I would propose that protecting our riparian corridors is very important to the Scioto and its tributaries. We should be planting native plants, shrubs, and trees where possible.

I hope to hear from interested individuals. Please reply if you have the time and the interest.
