🦒📚 FRANK SAYS... “Little Readers Make BIG Dreamers!” 🌟

Hey, Ohio families! 👋 It's your pal Frank! Take some time to read with your child this weekend!

Did you know that some of the biggest adventures start with the turn of a page? 📖✨

Reading to your children—even when they're tiny—helps build vocabulary, spark imagination, strengthen family bonds, and develop skills that will help them succeed in school and beyond!

And here's the best part... you don't need anything fancy! Just a good book, a cozy spot, and a few minutes together each day. 💙

Whether it's a bedtime story, a silly rhyming book, or reading the same favorite story for the 100th time (yes, AGAIN! 😂), every page makes a difference!

Frank's challenge: Take 15 minutes today to read with your favorite little learner. Those little moments can make a BIG impact!

Because at School Choice Ohio, we believe every child deserves a bright future—and that future can begin with a book! 💚

📚 Little Readers. BIG Dreams. BRIGHT Futures!

Things I Never Thought I'd Say Before Becoming a Parent...

"Why is there a banana in your backpack from last Tuesday?"
"No, your homework cannot be written on a napkin."
"Please explain why you're wearing two different shoes."

Parenting comes with surprises, regardless of where your kids go to school. 😂
What's the funniest thing you've said during a school morning?

☕🚗 made a stop in Dayton!

What a great turnout for yesterday's Montgomery County Provider Coffee! 🎉

Ann Riddle and SCO Special Needs Coordinator Cheryl Bowshier welcomed 17 school leaders from across Montgomery County for a morning filled with coffee (of course! ☕), valuable information and updates, great conversations, and opportunities to connect with fellow educators.

There's something special about bringing together school leaders who share a common goal: putting ! 💙💚

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We love seeing the collaboration, dedication, and passion of those working every day to make a difference for students and families across Ohio.

When it comes to school choice, headlines and assumptions shouldn’t take the place of data.

We appreciate EdChoice continuing to dig into the research behind some of the most common claims surrounding educational choice.

In this latest article, Martin Lueken examines nearly three decades of national data to ask an important question: Does school choice cause public schools to close?

The findings are worth a read. The research found weak and inconsistent evidence that private school choice increases the risk of public school closures—and reminds us that changing enrollment is much more complicated than pointing to any single cause.

Declining birth rates, population shifts, housing patterns, charter schools, homeschooling, private schooling and other factors can all play a role.

Good conversations about education should start with good information.

📖 Read the full article from EdChoice and take a look at the research behind the question:

Nearly three decades of data show school closures are more tied to broader enrollment and demographic trends than school choice.

🚗📍 rolled through Marion!

Ann’s latest stop took her to Kuest Academy Christian School in Marion, Ohio!

School visits are one of Ann’s favorite parts of being —getting inside schools, meeting the people who make them special, and learning more about the different educational opportunities available to Ohio families.

A big thank you to Kuest Academy Christian School for welcoming Ann and sharing more about your school and the students and families you serve!

☕🚗 Ann is back on the road this fall, so stay tuned to see where she heads next!
