And the ArtsPass Members' Exhibition People's Choice Award goes to ... Nathan Mayfield for his piece "Creep" (2026, latex tubing and wood). Thanks to everyone for voting!

Nathan Mayfield is an artist based in Cleveland, Ohio. He works as a machinist by trade, and his studio practice draws directly from that environment, industrial forms encountered on the shop floor, isolated from function and examined as pure form. His current work centers on wall hung object works built from industrial and construction materials, though his practice spans oil painting, printmaking, and drawing. Mayfield studied studio art at the Myers School of Art, University of Akron, and holds prior training in design and 3D animation. His public mural work includes commissions across the Akron and Cleveland area. He has exhibited at the Akron Art Museum, Summit Artspace, ROY G BIV Gallery, and the Cuyahoga Valley Art Center, among others.

SPACES is proud to announce the awardees of the 2026 Satellite Fund: Orlando Caraballo Ortiz, Anna Chapman/Re.tangle, Shelli Reeves, Lindsay Stefans, and Darius Steward. With the eighth cycle of this fund, each artist’s project was selected by a panel of five jurors to receive a grant of $12,000. The Satellite Fund, administered by SPACES since 2019 and supported by The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts Regional Regranting, is an opportunity for Cuyahoga County based artists, curators, and cultural producers to create a public visual art project engaging in experimental practices with strong conceptual foundations.

Join us in congratulating the 2026 awardees!

And big thanks to our jurors for your hard work on the final selections: wavy baby, Grace Chin, Amber N. Ford, Daniel Noel, and Jordan Wong!

Join us at SPACES this Thursday at 6:30 PM for a screening of No Home, Just Landscapes, an experimental documentary by Gabriel Xavier, presented as part of our Partnered Projects series.

Filmed in dreamlike black-and-white, No Home, Just Landscapes transforms Cleveland's downtown and west side into the setting for a deeply personal meditation on grief, memory, urban change, and the power of imagination. Through a narrated letter to a deceased friend, surreal characters, and the haunting acapella vocals of flamenco singer Alicia Gil, the film blurs the boundaries between documentary and fantasy.

Experience this moving exploration of loss, art, and transformation at SPACES.

Event is free but registration is encouraged: https://www.spacescle.org/events/2026/08/06/film-screening-no-home-just-landscapes
