Through DLDT’s Wavemaker Program, Kristine and Mike bring hands-on, engaging water education directly into classrooms across Northeast Ohio.

In celebration of Call to Earth Day, officially recognized on October 8, we’re getting a head start by coming together for a DLDT Beach Cleanup on Sunday, October 4!

Proud to be such longtime partners with Palmer Event Solutions- congrats on 10+ years!

Some business milestones look like contracts, celebrations, or rooms full of people. This one looks like a $2 bill.

When Gail sent Palmer Event Solutions’ first official invoice to our very first client, Drink Local Drink Tap, Founder and Executive Director Erin Huber Rosen intentionally paid it two dollars short. Then, she handed Gail a $2 bill and told her to frame it.

Gail kept it. She just never got around to framing it… until now.

Chapter 2️⃣ of our 10-year story is about that first client, the friendship that followed, and a small piece of paper that represents so much of what PES is built upon.

Drink Local Drink Tap brought schools, community leaders, local government, and residents together in Luwero to participate in Uganda’s National Cleaning Days. By coordinating the effort and providing the necessary cleaning supplies, DLDT helped turn a national initiative into meaningful, community-led action for cleaner, healthier schools.

For DLDT, this work is about more than a single cleanup. It’s about building a culture of clean water, sanitation, environmental stewardship, and community ownership that lasts. Through our work with schools in rural Uganda, we’re helping young people understand that they have a role in shaping the health and future of their communities. We were especially proud to see the students and community members come together, take ownership, and work side by side to care for their shared environment. These are the experiences that turn lessons into action and help create the next generation of Wavemakers.

There is so much hard work behind every WASH project we open.

Building climate-resilient, sustainable water, sanitation, and hygiene solutions takes more than construction. It takes months of planning, problem-solving, collaboration, and hands-on work from DLDT-Uganda, local leaders, school staff, parents, and the youth who will care for these systems for years to come.

We’re incredibly proud to celebrate the opening of new projects at Nakaye Primary School, St. Kitzo Kirungu Primary School, Matgono C/U Primary School, and Kabulasoke Primary School in rural Gomba, Uganda. Each WASH project is more than just water. We ensure the water is clean, reliable, and becomes part of daily routines at schools so that children and teachers can stay healthy and have an opportunity to thrive.

Opening a project is just the beginning of a new future; a future full of dignity and possibility for everyone.
