Want to spread the holiday spirit with others this holiday season? Here are five ways to help WSEM families in need. Contact Cheryl Selak, WSEM Volunteer Coordinator, at 216-651-2037, ext. 239 or Hope Wheeler at 216-651-2037, ext. 261 for more info!
1. Adopt-a-Family - Gift giving drive in which a family in need is paired with a company or donor. Donor is given clothing sizes of family members so that gifts may be purchased. Donations are needed by Monday, Dec. 12.
2. WSEM Food Centers' Holiday Food and Toy Drive - WSEM Food Centers are in need of staple foods, such as tuna, peanut butter, canned fruit, one dish meals & side dishes. Donations may be dropped off at either Brookside (3784 Pearl Road, Cleveland 44109) or Community Corner (8302 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland 44102).
3. Turkey Tens - $10 donations to help purchase turkeys for distribution to families in need at WSEM Food Centers.
4. Toy Store - Volunteers are needed to assist parents as they shop for their children who are enrolled in WSEM Early Head Start/Head Start. The Toy Store will be held at 5209 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland 44102 on Dec. 15, 16, 19, 20 and 21 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
5. Christmas Festival - WSEM will be a partner for the Ohio City Christmas Festival at West 25th Street and Market Avenue. WSEM will be hosting a cookie decorating tent on Saturday, Dec. 3 and 10 and is seeking 6-10 volunteers for each Saturday.
