Today, we wear orange. 🧡

National Gun Violence Awareness Day takes place today, the first Friday in June to mark the beginning of Wear Orange Weekend to honor the lives of those lost to gun violence and raise awareness of its devastating impact on children, parents, families, and communities.

The Wear Orange movement began in memory of Hadiya Pendleton, a 15-year-old girl whose friends chose orange to honor her life and advocate for safer communities. Today, people across the country wear orange to remember loved ones lost to gun violence and stand with those whose lives have been forever changed.

At KinderMourn, we work alongside hundreds of grieving families who’ve experienced the death of a loved one due to gun violence. Today we wear orange to honor our KinderMourn families impacted by gun violence, remember their loved ones, and raise awareness for the importance of creating safer communities for all.

When Empty Arms ends, Open Arms remains.

While our Empty Arms group offers meaningful support and connection, we know that many continue to long for a place where they can speak their baby’s name, share their experiences, and be understood by others who have walked a similar path.

That’s why we’re introducing Open Arms — a monthly gathering for those navigating pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or neonatal loss.

There is no curriculum, no commitment, and no need to RSVP. Simply come when it feels supportive to do so.

Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, you are welcome here.

📅 Third Thursday of every month, beginning Thursday, June 18.
⏰ 6:30–7:30 PM

Open to all current and former KinderMourn clients.

Because grief doesn’t follow a timeline. Neither does support.

Mental Health Awareness Month reminds us that grief and mental health are deeply connected.

At KinderMourn, we believe no one should have to grieve alone. Through counseling, support groups, and community connections, we help children, parents, and families find hope, healing, and support after the death of a loved one. 💚

We are honored to be a part of 3rd Annual Tennis Memorial Tournament and join them to raise awareness for mental health in our community. All proceeds help benefit organizations like ours providing mental health care, education, and resources. Together, we’re helping raise awareness, reduce stigma, and create meaningful conversations about mental health in our community. 📣

Our community shared words at the Duck Race like “safe,” “love,” “supportive,” “life saving,” and “home” to describe what KinderMourn means to them. 💜 Reading these messages is a powerful reminder that no one should have to navigate grief alone.

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re honoring the importance of support, connection, and compassionate spaces for grieving children, teens, parents, and families. Thank you for helping us create a place where healing and hope can grow together. 🦋

May is Mental Health Awareness Month. 💙

Grief and mental health are deeply connected, and healing is rarely linear. Some days feel lighter than others — but support, connection, and community can help create more good days along the way.

At KinderMourn, we believe no parent, child, or family should navigate grief alone.

This year’s Mental Health America theme, “More Good Days, Together,” reminds us of the importance of showing up for ourselves and for each other.

What. A. Day. 💛🐥

The 2026 Hope Floats Duck Race was one for the books! From the energy at the Whitewater Center to over 60,000 ducks floating for hope, this day was only possible because of our incredible community. 🌊✨

Thank you to every adopter, volunteer, sponsor, team, and event attendee who helped make this our biggest race yet. Your support helps grieving parents, children, teens, and families receive the counseling and care they deserve. 🫶

A special thank you to for beautifully capturing the heart, excitement, and impact of race day on our community. 📸
