Congratulations to Meredith, Tiffany, and Ron for graduating from the Life Skills Program! 🎉

They each worked incredibly hard for this moment, and we could not be prouder. Throughout the program, they brought their own unique perspectives, talents, and personalities to the table, making a lasting impact at the cafe.

Meredith, Tiffany, and Ron are surrounded by a strong community cheering them on every step of the way. Congratulations! ❤️

The future is bright, and we cannot wait to see all that they accomplish next!

Freedom Friday #2: Amber is celebrating 1 year of freedom in recovery!

Amber is an alumna of our Dove’s Nest program for women.

After enduring trauma at a young age, Amber spent years never feeling truly loved—until she found Dove’s Nest, a place that helped transform her life.

One of the most powerful lessons she’s learned in her journey is this: to love herself exactly as she is, because God does.

Amber is a devoted single mom to two beautiful children she adores. “I gave them life, but really, I think they gave life to me,” she shared.

Alongside being a proud mother, Amber is pursuing a college degree to further her education. She enjoys reading, exploring new places, and spending summer days at the creek fishing with her children.

Today, Amber wakes up each morning filled with gratitude…no longer feeling sick or searching for the next hit, but living in freedom and purpose.

Amber cherishes the women and staff she has met along her journey. She is grateful to have shoulders to lean on, including other Dove’s Nest Alumni, Christina Reynolds Young, Sherri Elwood, and Susan Steven. These ladies continue to inspire and motivate others!

Thank you, Amber, for sharing your freedom update, and congratulations on 1 year. 💙

In the same way the landscapes at Rebound and Dove's Nest are being transformed, so are the lives experiencing them.

We want to give a huge shoutout and thank you to CESO Inc. for dedicating a day to transforming the courtyard at Dove's Nest! Their hard work, generosity, and servant hearts helped create a welcoming space where women in recovery can find peace, community, and restoration. (You can see toward the end of the video that many of our women are already enjoying the space!)

Thank you so much!

At one point, Tim’s life was marked by addiction, hardship, and uncertainty.

Today, his story reflects hope, healing, and restoration.

A second chance is sometimes all someone needs to change the direction of their life.

Every day, we encounter individuals who have endured trauma that most of us could never imagine. Many times, those experiences impact their relationships, mental health, and way of living, ultimately leading them to turn to substance abuse in an attempt to escape the pain.

Too often, resources and support feel out of reach, leaving individuals trapped in a vicious cycle.

This is why at Charlotte Rescue Mission, we firmly believe in second chances.
Recovery is an opportunity to rediscover freedom, healing, and identity. Through compassionate care and supportive community, men and women are given the chance to rebuild their lives and step into a new future.

Behind every face is a story, a person worthy of love, and someone who may simply need a second chance.

Happy Mother's Day!💐🩷

This Mother’s Day, we honor every mother’s journey, love, and sacrifice.

At the Charlotte Rescue Mission, we have the privilege of walking alongside women as they rediscover hope, love, and healing.

Celebrating the mothers, grandmothers, and mentors who inspire hope, strength, and unconditional love every day. Happy Mother’s Day from Charlotte Rescue Mission. 🩷

Freedom Friday #1: Choanne celebrates 13 years of freedom in recovery!

Choanne is an alumna of our Dove’s Nest program for women.

Over the past 13 years, one truth has remained at the center of her journey:
“I am loved unconditionally. I am forgiven. I am made new.”

Today, Choanne continues to flourish through her relationship with Christ, her family, her community, and herself. She treasures time with her grandchildren and can often be found cheering them on at their sports games.

In her free time, she enjoys learning diamond art and cooking for disabled veterans. “It is very fulfilling to be able to give back and cook with love,” she shares.

Despite facing many obstacles early in life, Choanne never let her past define her future. She is deeply grateful for the support of her family and sponsor along the way.

Thank you, Choanne, for sharing your freedom update, and congratulations on 13 years. 💙

A few Sundays ago, Don Tooley hosted his 8th annual “Joe Tooley Memorial Bowling Day,” honoring Joe while raising money for the men and women we serve.

We are so grateful for his dedication, as well as everyone who participated in such a fun and meaningful day.

It was an incredible day filled with camaraderie, support, and remembrance, as friends, family, and the community came together to honor Joe’s legacy.

This year, $13,739 was raised through raffles, ticket sales, sponsorships, and donations. Nearly $14,000 can support almost five residents through our 120-day core program.

This generosity will go a long way in supporting men and women seeking a life transformation!
