Concord University is excited to announce Coach Jayson Gee as the 16th men's basketball coach. Along with Gee’s duties as the head men’s basketball coach at Concord, he will also assume a role as a special assistant to President Bethany Meighen.
Gee returns to the state of West Virginia where he served as a highly successful head coach at the University of Charleston from 1996-2003, leading his alma mater to a 160-53 (.751) overall record, including a 98-33 (.748) mark in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC). He guided the Golden Eagles to 2 regular season conference championships (1999-2000 and 2000-01), 2 conference tournament championships (1999 and 2001) and 4 consecutive trips to the NCAA Division II Tournament (1999, 2000, 2001, 2002).
Jayson Gee has more than 35 years of coaching experience at the Division I and II levels. He was most recently on the support staff for Jerome Tang at Kansas State during the 2025-26 season.
A formal press conference to introduce Gee is set for 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 29 inside the Carter Center on Christie/Cox Court. The press conference is open the public and everyone is invited to attend.
