LifeBridge AmeriCorps Program

LifeBridge AmeriCorps Program The mission of LifeBridge AmeriCorps is to bridge gaps and improve the quality of life for WV.

09/02/2026

The LifeBridge AmeriCorps Program has an open position serving with us at Marshall University. We're moving quickly, so if you are interested in applying, please send your resume and cover letter to me (Jeremy Bailey) and Susie Mullens at the emails listed on the flyer. We are looking to schedule some interviews tomorrow and possibly next week.

This is a full-time position. You will serve the students at Marshall University in a variety of ways, and you will learn a great deal in the process. I will mentor you throughout the year, and one of the most important things you will do during your term of service is offer naloxone education and resources at tabling events. Another major part of your role is assisting me in presenting a variety of educational training sessions.

One in particular is our Recovery Ally training, which you will learn and present alongside me. During this training, we teach people about substance use disorder, recovery, stigma, how to be an ally to those in recovery, and how to make an impact.

I can't forget to mention our volunteer activities, in which you will play a major role. One volunteer event that we have done for the last several years, and is near and dear to us, is serving food at Harmony House. We do this every month and will continue well into the future.

You will also have specific goals to meet by the end of your service year, such as the number of people served. We are always well above that number, so you have absolutely nothing to worry about there.

We also plan and host a variety of fun activities you will attend with our group, like bowling, movie nights, and more. We plan at least one every month throughout the school year.

Now, the most important part: what are the benefits to you? You will receive a living allowance of over $1,600 a month after taxes, and at the end of your year of service, you will receive an education award worth $7,395 and a stipend that will cover tuition for two semesters of college. In addition, your living stipend does not count as income for things like Medicaid and SNAP, so you could be eligible.

If this sounds like something you would like to be a part of, don't hesitate to reach out any time for more information or to apply.

What a way to start a year of service!

During this year’s LifeBridge AmeriCorps Member Orientation, our new and returning members came together to make a difference in our community.

Members packed 200 encouragement packs for nurses, staff, and patients at Vandalia Health Heart & Vascular Center and Breast Center.

They also created 100 handmade flowers and encouraging cards to share with community members throughout Kanawha City.

That’s 300 small acts of kindness and a wonderful way to kick off a new year of service. πŸ’™

πŸ“–βœ¨ A new chapter begins!

Orientation for the 2026–2027 LifeBridge AmeriCorps program year is officially in the books!

Over the past few days, our new and returning members have come together to learn, connect, prepare, and get ready for another incredible year of service. Now, they’re heading into communities across West Virginia ready to make an impact, build relationships, tackle challenges, and create stories worth telling.

Every member brings something different to the pages aheadβ€”but together, they’re part of one LifeBridge story.

Here’s to the people we’ll meet, the communities we’ll strengthen, the lessons we’ll learn, and the difference we’ll make along the way.

The pages are blank. The possibilities are endless. And this is the story we’ll write together. πŸ’™πŸ§‘

Welcome to LifeBridge AmeriCorps 2026–2027.
Let the next chapter begin! πŸ“šβœ¨
