Recovery takes time, and continued support matters. Across flood-impacted West Virginia communities, GO-WV members have been lending their people, resources and time to help neighbors move forward.

Hope Gas employees are helping keep hope alive in Lewis and Upshur counties following the recent devastating floods. Hope Gas contributed thousands of dollars to organizations supporting affected communities, donated needed supplies and building materials, and deployed employees and heavy equipment to clear mud, trees, and debris from schools, parks, roads, and other public spaces. That commitment extended beyond company-sponsored volunteer projects. Many employees also used their company sponsored personal volunteer time to support community-organized relief efforts. Some even brought family members along to help.

GO-WV is proud to recognize Hope Gas and its employees for stepping up for their coworkers, customers, and neighbors when they needed it most.

Reflecting on GO-WV’s recent summer meeting where Antero Resources CEO Mike Kennedy reported royalty payments of $9.7 BILLION since 2023 to more than 17,000 West Virginians. Kennedy added, “…the majority of royalty payments are paid to small landowners north of US-50 in West Virginia.”

That’s real community impact!

WV natural gas and oil power the Mountain State economy.

During West Virginia Legislative Interims, Deputy Revenue Secretary Pete Shirley told the Joint Finance Committee that natural gas and natural gas liquids provided more than 70% of the state’s severance tax collections during the most recent fiscal year.

Those revenues help support the services West Virginians rely on, from our schools to local fire and police protection. It’s another powerful reminder that West Virginia natural gas energizes our economy and communities.

Electricity demand is growing, and meeting it will require new, reliable generation.

With abundant natural gas right here at home, WV has an opportunity to put that resource to work generating the dependable power our grid needs while helping keep electricity affordable for families and businesses.

More demand requires more generation. West Virginia natural gas can be a big part of the solution.

Flood recovery doesn’t end when the headlines fade. Neither does the commitment of West Virginia’s natural gas industry. As communities across north central West Virginia continue the work of rebuilding and recovery, GO-WV members continue to show up.

Greylock Energy continues to support flood relief efforts throughout north central West Virginia. The company purchased and delivered a truckload of cleaning supplies directly to those affected in Lewis County and provided bleach to Doddridge County Emergency Services for distribution, while Greylock team members and their families provide volunteer support in the impacted area.

The company encourages a spirit of service by providing each team member with a paid workday to travel to the affected communities and volunteer. We are proud to recognize Greylock Energy and its employees for putting care for their communities into action when it matters most.
