Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor Five sites serving 300+ youth each day and over 500 annually in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City & Marion! All of our programs are led by professionally trained staff.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor originally opened doors in 1993 as Boys & Girls Club of Cedar Rapids. With one location on Ellis Blvd, Boys & Girls Club of Cedar Rapids served around 45 youth on a daily basis. In 2004, the Club grew to include a site at First Congregational Church on the Southeast side of Cedar Rapids. Like so many homes and businesses, the Club lost the Ellis Blvd location dur

ing the 2008 Flood. This caused the Club change it’s philosophy from “How do we get kids to the Club” to “How do we get the Club to kids?” Our answer to open multiple sites throughout Cedar Rapids. Eight years later (in 2016) we officially started serving kids in Iowa City and in 2019, middle school kids in Marion. In 2020, the Club officially changed its name to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor providing daily programming at six sites, four in Cedar Rapids, one in Iowa City and one in Marion. The Club provides an after school and all day summer program focusing on the educational, social, vocational, health & character development of children and teens ages 5 - 18. Our six Clubs are open to all youth who need our services, but primarily those who need us most, which means not only those with economic challenges, but also those with social, educational, and physical challenges. Our annual membership is over 500 youth and on average, 300 attend our Clubs each day. Our annual membership fee is $12 per child and over 90% of Club members receive a scholarship to attend our Clubs.

🎣 Volunteers needed for Fish O Rama!

Fish O Rama is right around the corner, and we’re looking for helping hands to make the 24th Annual event a success.

From assisting with registration and check in, to helping at weigh ins and supporting anglers throughout the weekend, volunteers play a big role in creating a great experience for participants while supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of the Corridor.

Whether you can give a few hours or a full day, we would love to have you join us August 1 & 2 at Robbins Lake in Cedar Rapids.

Happy belated birthday to Austin, who celebrated on June 3. As Chair of our Iowa City Board, Austin brings enthusiasm, leadership, and a genuine passion for our mission. Whether he's energizing fellow board members or helping lead our Iowa City Bags Tournament fundraiser, his impact is felt throughout our organization. 💙

Happy early birthday to Laura, who celebrates on June 22. In just six months, she's become an active contributor on our Pedal for Progress event committee and a great advocate for our organization. 🚴

Busse Club kids found the perfect way to celebrate the last day of after school Club programming - with an Indoor Field Day! 🎉

It was an afternoon of fun, friendly competition, and a little bit messy! Kids tackled a whipped cream scavenger hunt to find gummy worms, watermelon candies, and pineapple rings! Next, they tested their skills in the Granny Pants Game, and finally, strategized their way through Jumbo Mancala. It was an exciting afternoon and a great way to wrap up an incredible school year together. 💙

Olivet Club members recently participated in an Olympic theme day! 🏅

These activities gave Club kids a chance to move, compete, and have fun together. During each activity, the kids stepped up, tried new things, and worked together. Staff enjoyed seeing the kids encourage each other, have fun, and show what being part of Club is all about.

While these activities build skills, they also build confidence and connection.
Olympic Day was a fun, active way to practice the skills that help them reach their full potential. Through games and challenges, they learn teamwork, effort, and perseverance while showing care, respect, and good sportsmanship. 💙
