Heavy trail use on Sunday
The Cedar Rapids Marathon is being held this Sunday, June 7th. Please be aware that the marathon route will be using several parts of the trail on Sunday beginning at 7:00 AM and going until 1:00 PM. The marathon will be using the trail around Cedar Lake and will be using the Iowa River/Cedar Valley Nature Trail from Czech Village out to Highway 30. This is a large race with thousands of participants. While the trail is not closed you may want to use the Grant Wood Trail, Sac and Fox Trail, or CeMar Trail. You can also head north of Cedar Lake and start at the Boyson Road trailhead of the CRT/CVNT or head south of Highway 30. You can find maps of all the trails in the area at: https://www.linncountytrails.org/all-trails or stop by our booth at the Farmer's Market on Saturday to pick up a paper map.

You can see all of the CR Marathon race routes on the https://cedarrapidsmarathon.com. We've included an image of the marathon (all other races share parts of the marathon).

Numerous roads will also be closed for the marathon. These closures can be found at: https://cedar-rapids.org/news_detail_T6_R949.php

Swift Campout Cedar Rapids is on, folks. Let's go campin!🌙

We're loading up our bikes Saturday, June 20th and cutting loose for the annual summer solstice overnighter and of course, you're all invited.

Rally the crew, pack the stuff, and join us for an easy-goin' cruise out to Pinicon Ridge Park where we've got a cozy group site primed for some campfire camaraderie and R&R under the stars for the night.

🧭 We've got a chill, 25-mile route to camp queued up and plan to launch from the shop at 10am Saturday morning. We're planning for a no-drop, easy goin pace down the Cedar Valley Nature Trail before makin' a gas station pit stop in Alburnett and rolling the last 10-miles of gravel to camp for the night.

⛺️ We hope to get to camp and set up with plenty of afternoon left to enjoy Pinicon Ridge Parks' plethora of trails, the Wapsipinicon River, and maybe pop over to the neighbors at for a snack. There's also a grocery store in town to grab anything else you'll need to eat for the night/mornin'.

Be sure to plan and prepare for a fully self-supported ride, friends. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Bug spray too!🦟There's a restroom, potable water, and plenty of firewood at camp.

✨Click the link below' for the finer details, routes, etc.✨

👉 and send us a DM here or an email to [email protected] if you'd like our go-to pack list or if we can answer any questions.

Trail Alert! Crews have begun work (week of May 26th) on the railroad tracks near Quaker Oats and Cargill! There is a detour posted, please use it. It is gravel so care should be taken when using. We do not have a finish date, but we know it will be a smoother ride over those tracks when complete! Thanks to LCTA member Kevin Kirchner for the photos. :)
