Some good Friday news! When we fight, we win! Motion for summary judgement GRANTED in RICADV v. Kennedy! We will continue to resist the dehumanization of our communities and any efforts to roll back survivor-centered and inclusive values central to our collective work to end violence and oppression! https://loom.ly/go6FqY0

We are grateful to the MA Legislature and Healey Administration for taking action to protect our communities from ICE surveillance and violence, but our advocacy will not stop here. ICE makes it unsafe for immigrant survivors to not only leave abuse and sexual/domestic violence, but can disappear immigrant survivors from seeking services in the first place. ICE out of our communities now!

Survivors and programs cannot wait any longer for federal funding. We need our representatives to act now to help ensure these funds are released immediately. Tell the DOJ and HHS to immediately publish all the delayed NOFOs and expedite the release of congressionally appropriated OVW and FVPSA funds. Survivors can’t wait.

Federal funding is critical to ensuring survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault can access lifesaving services and support. The FVPSA and OVW funding delays have real and immediate consequences for survivors and the programs they depend on. Tell the DOJ and HHS to immediately publish all the delayed NOFOs and expedite the release of congressionally appropriated FVPSA and OVW funds. Survivors can’t wait.

We are so honored to have received an Economic Empowerment grant from The Allstate Foundation again this year! We are proud to offer programming that promotes the financial health and economic empowerment of advocates across the state—many of whom are themselves survivors—and so grateful to The Allstate Foundation for making this work possible.

This morning, major news outlets reported that the ICE officer in the shooting of Joan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, has a history of domestic violence and abuse. No survivor justice without immigrant justice. ICE out of our communities now.

From our coalition, THANK YOU to the Healey Administration for supporting survivors and prioritizing the availability of $13.8 million in services for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence! Addressing this major federal funding cliff this year is a critical step, but it also points to the need for more robust, reliable funding for survivor services in Massachusetts, regardless of uncertainties at the federal level.

JDI just endorsed Vote YES for a Safe Massachusetts — the ballot campaign fighting to protect MA’s strong gun laws in November!

Did you know the gun lobby and the NRA are currently trying to overturn Massachusetts’ lifesaving 2024 gun safety law? The law creates stronger protections against ghost guns, modernizes red flag laws, and expands violence prevention programs. Now, it’s up to us to protect it and help make our communities safe from gun violence.
