Boston Harbor Now

Boston Harbor Now Boston Harbor Now is stewarding the waterfront, harbor and islands. Boston Harbor’s waterfront provides a gathering place and welcoming front yard for everyone.

The waterfront is both a lively destination for cultural and recreational offerings and a robust center of maritime economic activities. Our people and places are prepared for a rising sea, living with it where possible, protecting or retreating where necessary.

In just one week, Boston Harbor Now will welcome hundreds of leaders, advocates, partners, and friends to the waterfront for Spectacle on Boston Harbor, our signature annual celebration and a special milestone as we mark 10 years of impact across Boston Harbor and the Harbor Islands.

On Tuesday, June 9, guests will gather aboard The Tall Ship in East Boston for an unforgettable evening featuring waterfront views, local food and drinks, live music, and inspiring words from our partners helping to shape the future of our Harbor.

Together, we will celebrate a decade of progress while investing in the next chapter of climate resilience, waterfront access, public programming, and community stewardship across Boston Harbor.

Tickets are still available, and there is limited time remaining to become an event sponsor and join the growing community of organizations supporting this work.

In recognition of AAPI Heritage Month, we’d like to spotlight Leverett Wing—a member of the Boston Harbor Now Board of Advisors, Executive Director of Commonwealth Seminar and an active leader in the greater Boston community.

In 2016, Leverett partnered with Boston Harbor Now to help connect Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community members with access to Boston Harbor by launching the AANHPI Community Cruise. Now, in its 10th year of the program, the impact of this longstanding partnership and Leverett’s leadership in helping hundreds of community members every year experience the beauty, restoration, and power of our region's greatest public asset.

As we celebrate AAPI Heritage Month, we also recognize the many important observances that take place throughout May, including Mental Health Awareness Month, Jewish American Heritage Month, and National Military Appreciation Month.
