Literations Literations pairs highly-trained volunteer literacy coaches (aged 50+) with 1st-4th graders to deliver evidence-based, one-to-one literacy interventions.

Our students significantly improve their reading and social-emotional skills. For over 20 years, we have made a difference in young lives. From the start, our mission has always been to help young students become literacy proficient. We believe children have the most to gain from achieving literacy proficiency by fourth grade, to be confident learners, and equipped for lifelong success. Our intergenerational model, pairing caring, highly-trained older adult volunteers with young students, is key to achieving our positive outcomes. We are poised to meet the need for increased 1:1 literacy support in the Greater Boston area.

Exciting Expansion News: Literations is thrilled to be bringing our intergenerational literacy program to two additional schools in Framingham this school year, for a total program footprint of seven schools in the district!

We are so grateful to Framingham Public Schoolsand the partners that made this expansion of our services in the community possible, including the Community Foundation for MetroWest, the Amelia Peabody Foundation, the Jack Satter Foundation, and everyone who donated to our Back to School campaign.

We can't wait to serve more students than ever before in the months ahead, helping young readers unlock endless opportunities through the power of literacy. 🌟

Literations’ Framingham Program Coordinator, Faith Tendo, is excited to expand students’ horizons as we expand our high-dose literacy tutoring program into TWO NEW Framingham elementary schools this fall!

76% of Framingham Public Schools students are reading below grade level. Literations aims to change this with the help of our Literacy Coaches who provide an extra layer of one-to-one reading support to struggling young readers in grades 1 - 4.
