The new cohort of Level 1 Apprentices at the Northwest Maritime Apprenticeship have arrived. Eight new young adults ready to start their marine technician journey, and we can't wait to see what they do.

This year marks the fifth year of the Northwest Maritime Apprenticeship running and we think it could become the best year yet! A big thank you to our Employer Partners providing on-the-job training:

The 10th annual Bellingham SeaFeast blew in and out as fast as the sun did!

What was supposed to be a gloomy, rainy couple of days in Bellingham turned into one of the last sun-soaked weekends of the season, full of beautiful weather, and thanks to Bellingham SeaFeast, plenty of festivities to match. During SeaFeast, we had a spectacular guest: Bobby, one of our Buoyant Beginnings Pre-apprenticeship graduates from this summer. He volunteered four hours informing the public about the program he completed, and showing everyone how to tie a great knot!

We are so thankful, Serve Washington (Climate Corps Network) for its support of Buoyant Beginnings Pre-apprenticeship for Maritime Careers, and to Bellingham SeaFeast for putting on such an incredible event.

This time last week, our staff got the privilege of going to the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival. It was an incredible weekend out on by the Northwest Maritime Center, and we were so thankful to be a part of it.
