Wow - what a great week we had collecting donations for Feed the Need. Teams from Industrial Credit Union, Haggen Food & Pharmacy, KAFE 104.1 and KGMI News/Talk 790 had their hearts warmed by the generosity of our community, and we can't thank you enough for contributing to this fundraiser.

We are still gathering final results, but our initial estimate is that our fundraising activities over the last 3 weeks generated approximately $135,000 for Whatcom County food banks. This is short of our goal of $150,000, but still an incredible amount that we are very proud of.

One of the ways we see our collective impact is in the very people who support this cause. We've met many people over the years who come to donate and tell us that they have used a food bank in the past, and they know firsthand how vital it is to our community.

1 in 5 Whatcom County Households.
52% with some college education.
35% Children.
44% with at least one household member working.
Senior Citizens.
Single Parents.
Veterans.
Your friends and neighbors.

These are food bank recipients. These are the people who need your help. We would still love to hit our fundraising goal - not because of pride, but because the need is real. If you'd like to donate, you can still do so online at https://squareup.com/store/feed-the-need

Later this week we'll post a final total, as well as all the businesses that contributed to this cause. Thank you for helping to make a difference in our community!

We know everyone has been patiently awaiting results of the 7th annual Food Truck Round Up, and we are so excited to announce that this event raised $40,000 for Whatcom County food banks! This amount then gets added in to our total fundraising goal of $150,000 through the Feed the Need Community Food Drive.

If you missed the announcement at the event, New Mexico Tamale Company was the crowd favorite food truck!

There are so many people and businesses to thank for making this event possible, and we hope you all go out and support these local leaders who support our community.

Industrial Credit Union: We don't want to toot our own horn, but our staff deserves tremendous recognition for the time, energy and love that they put in to this event. Industrial Credit Union started this event 7 years ago and has continued to plan, coordinate and execute it from start to finish - with the help of some incredible sponsors, of course.
