The three main pollutants that keep the Harbor from being safe for swimming and fishing are bacteria, trash, and polluted stormwater runoff.

Yesterday students from Digital Harbor High School joined us for an oyster gardening boat trip! With their help we transported our FIRST oysters of the season from the Inner Harbor to the Chesapeake Bay.

Our oysters grow to one year old in the Baltimore Harbor, filtering water and improving water quality while they grow, before being taken to their forever homes in the Bay aboard a historic vessel.

Thanks to our students from DHH for helping us out and kicking off our season of oyster boat rides!
