🎉 Welcome to the MFN Team, Tatum Moss!

We're excited to welcome Tatum Moss as our new EHS Administrative Specialist at Maryland Family Network!

Tatum brings a rich and varied professional background to MFN, blending administration, leadership, healthcare, customer service, marketing, and the arts. She began her career in bookkeeping before moving into arts administration and marketing at the Drama Learning Center, where she managed projects, scheduling, and contracts while working directly with students and families.
Across every role, Tatum's throughline has been the same: keeping people, projects, and operations organized while building a welcoming, collaborative environment.

Outside of work, Tatum's creativity shines through her love of theatre, directing, and playwriting — bringing stories and characters to life both on and off the stage.

🎉 Big news for Baltimore families and child care providers!

Baltimore City is investing $300,000 in the Baltimore City Child Care Resource Center, helping child care providers build stronger businesses and expand access to high-quality care for families across the city.

The funding will support coaching, licensing guidance, professional development, and business assistance for providers. It will also strengthen the Growing Opportunities for Family Child Care (GOFCC) program, helping more aspiring providers open licensed family child care businesses in neighborhoods where families need them most.

When child care providers have the tools to succeed, families have greater access to reliable, high-quality care.

We're grateful to the Baltimore City Council, the Scott Administration, and our partner, The Family Tree, for investing in Baltimore's children, families, and child care providers. 💙

🎉 We're expanding support for Maryland families!

Maryland Family Network has selected six new Patty Center–Family Support Program partners to bring parenting support, early learning resources, and community connections to more families across the state.

Over the coming months, these partners will prepare to open welcoming community spaces for expectant parents and families with young children.

We are excited to welcome Fawn Turner to Maryland Family Network as our new EHS Child Care Specialist!

Fawn's career in early childhood is as hands-on as it gets — child care aide, classroom teacher, center director, family child care operator, and paraprofessional supporting students with Autism in public schools. Along the way she earned a degree in Psychology and Human Services and her Registered Behavior Technician certification, bringing both lived experience and formal training to her work with children and families.

Her passion for mentoring teachers and translating experience into practice makes her a natural fit for the Early Head Start team.

Donata joins MFN with extensive experience in administrative operations, project coordination, and customer service — combined with specialized expertise as a Certified Sleep Science Coach and Certified Stress Management Coach. Her background spans entrepreneurship, podcast hosting, and wellness education, with a consistent focus on supporting people through growth and transformation.

We are glad to have Donata's skills, perspective, and commitment to people-centered work as part of our network.

We have some exciting news to celebrate!

Congratulations to Project ACT's Director, Morgan Durand Horvath, on being elected to the Executive Board of the Division for Early Childhood (DEC) as a Member-at-Large for the 2026–2028 term.

This national leadership role recognizes Morgan's commitment to inclusive early childhood practices and reflects the incredible work happening every day through Project ACT and alongside the child care providers, families, and partners we have the privilege of supporting.

We're excited to see Maryland represented in national conversations and even more excited about the ideas, connections, and opportunities this role will bring back to our community.

100 licensed family child care educators. In Western Maryland. And counting. 🎉

Our partners at Child Care Choices — part of the Mental Health Association of Frederick County — just hit the biggest milestone in the history of Maryland's GOFCC program. 100 individuals across Allegany, Carroll, Frederick, Garrett, and Washington Counties have gone through the program and opened licensed family child care businesses in their own communities.

Maryland Family Network coordinates GOFCC statewide — and seeing this milestone happen is exactly why this work matters.

These are parents' neighbors. Community members who said yes to children. Small business owners creating child care options where families need them most.
