Caring for your family shouldn't mean putting your livelihood at risk.

Maryland's Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program will provide eligible workers with paid, job-protected leave to welcome a new child, care for a loved one, or address their own serious health needs.

Maryland Family Network helped lead the effort to pass the Time to Care Act and continues advocating for effective implementation so Maryland workers and families can access the support they need.

Benefits are scheduled to begin January 3, 2028.

A Child Care Substitute Pool is coming to Maryland! When a child care educator is unexpectedly absent, the impact extends beyond the classroom—disrupting programs, families, and workplaces.

Maryland Family Network, in coordination with the Maryland State Department of Education, is developing a statewide Substitute Pool to connect licensed child care centers with qualified, vetted educators for temporary coverage.

At Maryland Family Network, our perspective on Head Start comes from experience. As one of Maryland’s largest Early Head Start providers, we see every day how strong program standards translate into meaningful support for children and families.

Proposed federal changes to Head Start could affect program operations, family eligibility, health and developmental services, inclusion, and support for multilingual learners.

We’re asking that the standards that help Head Start deliver high-quality, accessible services for children and families remain in place.
