Deaf Diplomacy Group (DDG) is a boutique bipartisan Washington, D.C.-based advocacy organization dedicated primarily to advancing equitable foreign assistance for deaf and hard-of-hearing communities affected by ongoing conflict, displacement, and natural disasters worldwide. DDG collaborates with embassies, congressional offices, policymakers, government partners, international organizations, industry innovators, and local partners to identify needs, facilitate accessible resources/support programs, and secure appropriations for inclusive foreign assistance initiatives. In addition to its foreign assistance efforts, DDG's congressional advocacy arm regularly engages members of Congress and relevant congressional committees on a wide range of social issues negatively impacting the lives of over 38 million individuals with hearing loss in the U.S., and the approximately 430 million individuals with hearing loss living abroad.

Each year on 23 September, Deaf Diplomacy Group (DDG) recognizes International Sign Language in Diplomacy Day and the essential role sign languages play in advancing accessibility, inclusion, and meaningful participation in global diplomacy.

Deaf and hard-of-hearing communities must be represented in the policies, partnerships, and international efforts that affect their lives.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Deaf and hard-of-hearing professionals, CODAs, interpreters, and other sign language users who have the distinct honor and privilege of serving our country through the U.S. Foreign Service and broader diplomatic community. Their service helps ensure that American diplomacy reflects the diversity, talent, and experiences of the people it represents.
