🌳 One last chance to get your hands dirty for clean water at our fall Baltimore County residential tree plantings!

We're wrapping up our fall residential tree planting events in Baltimore County on Wednesday, October 14, and we'd love for you to join us!

Our tree planting work doesn't stop there! We'll continue planting trees in Baltimore City's public rights-of-way through December. 🌱

Every tree planted helps absorb stormwater, provide shade, support local wildlife, and create greener, healthier neighborhoods. 💚

Whether you're a first-time volunteer or an experienced TreeKeeper, there's a place for you! Swipe through to see our volunteers in action.

📅 Wednesday, October 14 | 11 AM–2 PM
📍 Ruxton Road, Baltimore County, MD

We'll provide the gloves, tools, and snacks. Just bring your reusable water bottle, weather-appropriate clothes, and a willingness to dig in!

🔗 Help us finish our fall County planting season strong! Register for our final residential tree planting event here: https://bluewaterbaltimore.org/event/north-baltimore-county-residential-tree-planting-5/

October is packed with ways to get outside and help protect Baltimore’s waterways. 🌳💧

Whether you want to plant trees or learn how we investigate water pollution, there’s a volunteer opportunity for you:

🌳 Tree Plantings: Get your hands dirty for cleaner water and a greener Baltimore! Join Blue Water Baltimore staff to plant trees in yards and along streets in Baltimore County and Baltimore City. No experience is needed! First-time volunteers and experienced TreeKeepers are both welcome.

🔬 Outfall Screening Blitzes: Head into local streams with Blue Water Baltimore’s water quality team to collect samples from stormwater outfalls during dry-weather conditions. You’ll learn how we look for signs of pollution, how contaminants can enter our waterways, and what you can do to help report and prevent pollution.

Please note: Outfall Screening Blitzes have limited capacity, so early registration is encouraged. Tree planting participants must register individually and complete the required waiver process.

What a day! 💙

We had such a great time celebrating with everyone who joined us for this year’s Blue Water Bash! 🌊

From hands-on water activities and the School of Wishes to conversations about restoration, native plants, advocacy, and the future of our waterways, it was wonderful to see our community learning, creating, and connecting together.

We were especially pleased to recognize this year’s Watershed Champions: Cynthia Taylor, Donna Clayton, Rosemari Mensuphubey, and Dick Williams, as well as our Nursery Volunteer of the Year, Rose Johnson! 👏💧🌱

These individuals represent the dedication, care, and community spirit that make a healthier Baltimore watershed possible.

A huge thank you to the community members and leaders, Blue Water Baltimore staff, sponsors, partners, board members, volunteers, and supporters who helped make this event happen. Your time, energy, expertise, and generosity power this work all year long.

And a special thank you to our amazing Blue Water Bash sponsors for making this celebration possible! 💙

What does it take to turn an open space into habitat? 🌱🦋

At Black Butterfly Teaching Farm in South Baltimore, the answer is thousands of native plants—and a lot of community power.

Blue Water Baltimore is helping expand the farm’s pollinator habitat with a 5,000-square-foot garden and approximately 1,500 native plants. These plants will support pollinators, improve local habitat, and bring even more life to this community growing space.

This work builds on the farm’s continued growth and our partnership with to create healthier, greener spaces across the city.

Join us for an upcoming volunteer planting and help transform this space one native plant at a time! Visit
