PUPPY TIME! AUSTIN TX! We are now accepting applications for this adorable pack of pups!

We have all loved watching these pups grow up at the rescue!

From the day we rescued their pregnant beagle mama to their birthday to their first photo shoot, we have loved every minute 🥰

Now it is time for us to help the pups find their forever homes.

We are currently scheduling meet and greets for June 27. The pups will be 8 weeks then and ready for adoption ❤️

💔 Fiona has already been through more than any dog should.

At approximately 9 years old, Fiona found herself in a Texas shelter facing euthanasia. Thankfully, she is now safe with Hound Rescue and getting the care she desperately needed.

When our veterinarian examined Fiona, the condition of her mouth was described as atrocious. Years of severe dental disease and infection had taken a devastating toll on her health. In fact, the infection had become so advanced that the tooth rot had created a wound beneath her eye.

Yesterday, Fiona underwent extensive dental surgery. A total of 24 teeth were extracted due to advanced dental disease, infection, and damage. During the same procedure, she also had a mammary tumor removed.

Can you imagine living with that kind of pain every day?

Despite everything she’s endured, Fiona remains sweet, gentle, and trusting. Her tail still wags. She still looks at people with hope in her eyes.

The good news is that Fiona is finally on the road to recovery. She has about two weeks of healing ahead of her, and once her mouth has recovered, she should feel like a brand new girl.

But lifesaving medical care like this comes at a cost.

Some dogs wag their tails - Aviva hugs you with her eyes.

You know the look. The one where a dog stares at you like you’re the only person in the room. The one that says, “Wherever you’re going, I’d like to come too.” That’s Aviva.

At just 1 year old and 33 pounds, she’s equal parts playful and peaceful. When she finds a new toy, she’ll entertain herself by tossing toys in the air, but when playtime is over, all she really wants is to curl up beside you or burrow under the blankets for a nap. Or if you’re headed on a road trip, she’s perfectly happy resting her head on your shoulder and watching the open road.

She’s the kind of dog who thrives with consistency. Give her a routine, clear expectations, and a daily walk, and she settles into home life beautifully. In return, you’ll get a loyal shadow who watches you with the softest eyes and chooses you over and over again.

This 1-year-old basset mix is happiest when she’s joining you for a walk, investigating every interesting smell, or showing off her signature evening zoomies. But when the day is done? She’s perfectly content curled up under a blanket with her people.

A couple months ago, we brought Stevie into the rescue - a very pregnant stray beagle mama ❤️

Stevie’s litter of rockstar pups are now ready for adoption!

Marley, Hendrix, Lennon, Mitchell, Bowie, and Jagger are the cutest and sweetest pups! We had an amazing time at their photo shoot!

We are scheduling meet and greets for June 27. You will have a chance to meet the litter and pick your favorite pup!

ADOPTED! DOT IS HOME FOREVER!

Dot came to us from Austin Animal Services as a stray full of surprises!

Our first surprise was the shelter had her listed as a very young coonhound puppy. Based on the info from the shelter, we were anticipating she would be 70+ lbs full grown.

Much to our surprise, our vet told us she was a mostly grown older puppy and would only be about 30 lbs full grown 😆

Our second surprise was when we discovered she had come out of the shelter with a terrible strain of kennel cough. A huge thank you to everyone who donated to help with her vet costs!

Our third surprise was when she was adopted by the most amazing hound Dad! ❤️

Hound Rescue will temporarily pause new intakes from June 10 through June 30.

As a 100% volunteer-run rescue, many of our rescue coordination volunteers have long-planned family vacations during this time, and our team needs a short break to rest and recharge.

Dogs currently in our care will continue receiving full support and medical care.

You may email [email protected] and a volunteer will reply when available.

Winston is officially looking for his forever home! ❤️

This handsome 2-year-old, 36-pound Basset Hound is ready to find a family of his very own.

Winston is affectionate, loves attention, and isn’t shy about letting you know when he’d like some more. He enjoys toys and he sploots! He also walks beautifully on a leash, making him a great companion for neighborhood strolls and adventures.

And let’s talk about those ears… Winston has ears for miles and all the classic Basset charm to go with them.

Winston does well with kids, cats, or other dogs. He loves people and has quickly won over everyone he’s met.
