Hank is a stunning 5 year-old Blue Tick Coonhound and an all-around good boy!

Whether he’s nuzzled up beside you on the couch or happily heading out for a long, brisk walk, Hank is happiest by your side 🥰

Hank is a gentle soul who adores affection but is not jumpy or clingy. He loves very deeply, and his family is his joy 🥹

He does best with a canine companion or two, but no cats, please! Hank is very gentle with other dogs of all sizes and submissive. He easily and joyfully joins a new pack 🤩

Hank is a perfect gentleman at home and makes life very easy. He is crate and potty trained and can also be left uncrated. He is not a chewer and has no interest in the trash or counters 👍

He’s calm and easygoing most of the time—until a raccoon or other critter catches his attention. Then his impressive hound bay comes out. Loud and proud! 😉

Hank is heartworm positive, but Hound Rescue will fund his treatment even after he is adopted. All you provide is a loving home and a second chance 💕

Hank is the rare soul that is just as beautiful on the outside as the inside. He is the kind of dog that makes people stop, stare, and light up with joy ❤️

Shiner has been adopted by an amazing hound loving family! We think this pictures says it all 🥹

All of our coonhound puppies from this litter have now found forever homes. We are so happy for all of them and their new families!

This summer, we have had a total of 14 coonhound puppies adopted! A year ago, we would not have believed that was possible!

A huge thank you to our fosters and adopters who have shown our bigger hounds so much love 💕

Hazel is 8 months old, 44 lbs, and somehow even sweeter than she is adorable. 🥹🤍 After being abandoned following a cattle auction and landing in an entirely outdoor shelter, this girl is SO ready for her forever.

Hazel is affectionate, confident, doing great with crate and potty training, and absolutely LOVES other dogs of all sizes. She’s the kind of girl who’s going to make one very lucky family wonder how they ever lived without her. 🐾

MAGNOLIA MADE IT TO NORTH CAROLINA! Want to believe in miracles?! Keep reading!

A couple weeks ago, an incredible hound loving family from North Carolina applied to adopt Magnolia.

After visiting with them, we knew we had to find her a ride to North Carolina! This family just loved her so much, and we knew she would have a wonderful and blessed life with them.

North Carolina is a long ways from Texas, though! And Magnolia was not fully vaccinated, so we could not use commercial dog transport.

Eventually, an incredible volunteer who coordinates transports for hounds all over the country agreed to help us. She put together a plan to get Magnolia there by having multiple volunteers drive a leg of the trip.

After she posted the transport plan, a miracle happened! A volunteer offered to take Magnolia for us on an airplane!

Things went a little sideways, though, at the airport when we found out that Magnolia was too tall to fly 😬

After such a set back, this volunteer did not hesitate at all. She immediately jumped in the car and started driving to North Carolina.

When we called the volunteer, she said the same thing as us. Magnolia was just meant to be with this family, and she needed to get to North Carolina 🥰

There were many happy tears when Magnolia met her new family! And she is settling in great. She adores everyone and loves playing with her new doggy sibling. Her new name is Myrtle! 💕

Rescue is hard, but we believe in miracles. Magnolia’s journey will always be a miracle to us ❤️

INCOMING! ADOPT HAZEL! 💚
AUSTIN TX

Hazel is a super affectionate and easy going hound mix puppy looking for a forever home 🥹

After being abandoned in a small Texas town after a cattle auction, Hazel found herself at a shelter that is entirely outside 🥵

Thanks to an amazing foster, Hazel is now in a home and loving life with her new pack 🥰

Hazel gets along amazing with dogs of all sizes! She was a little timid and submissive the first couple of days, but being with a pack has really helped build her confidence.

We believe that Hazel is an older puppy, maybe around 8 months. She is 44 lbs and probably won’t grow much more.

She is the perfect age for starting a new life and a great size for all your adventures!

Hazel also adores people and is doing great with crate and potty training. There is just one thing missing - a forever home 💕

We can’t take our eyes off Hank! For a hound lover, Hank is the kind of guy that makes you melt, stare, and your heart flutter 😍

Goofy, incredibly handsome, loud - you know the type. And if that’s your type, then we have the dog for you!

Behind all that charm, Hank has had a hard life. But we believe his best days are ahead!

Hank is potty and crate trained. He is friendly with people and gets along great with other dogs. He would do best in a home with older children. No cats please 😉

We originally believed Hank was around 4-5. Our vet said he may be a little older. Hank is heart worm positive. After he is adopted, the rescue will continue paying for his treatment - all you provide is a loving home ❤️

🎸 Stevie’s Encore: She’s Adopted! 🎸

You’re probably wondering… wait, is Stevie JUST NOW being adopted?! Yep! This girl has had quite the journey.

Stevie came to Hound Rescue as a pregnant stray and gave birth to her rockstar litter in April. X-rays showed five puppies, but she surprised us with SIX! She was the best mama, and once her babies were adopted, it was finally Stevie’s turn to be taken care of.

Those same x-rays revealed BBs lodged in her body from her life before rescue. After she was spayed, multiple mammary tumors were discovered, and testing confirmed Stage 1 carcinoma. With the wonderful team at Daylily Animal Hospital, the tumors were removed and Stevie recovered beautifully.

Her final hurdle is heartworm treatment, which Hound Rescue will continue to cover. This girl has been worth every penny — and there have been quite a few pretty pennies! If you can help offset her vet bills and treatment, we’d be incredibly grateful.

But most importantly… STEVIE IS ADOPTED! ❤️

Her adopter is a longtime Hound Rescue volunteer, generous supporter, and repeat adopter, so we know she couldn’t be in better hands.

Stevie also has a beautiful new name: Chaya’le, from the Hebrew Chaya, meaning “life.” After everything she’s overcome, we can’t think of anything more fitting.

From pregnant stray, to rockstar mama, to cancer survivor, and now beloved family member — Chaya’le is finally home. ❤️

INCOMING! ADOPT ROCKET! AUSTIN TX! 🚀

Rocket is the sweetest puppy around 8-10 months and weighing just 20 lbs 🥹

Our amazing volunteer transporters drove 15 hours round trip to rescue him from a shelter ❤️

We are so glad to have him at Hound Rescue! Everyone who meets him falls for his sweetness and great manners 🥰

Here are a few great things we have already noticed about Rocket:

• potty and crate trained

• loves other dogs

• cat friendly

• very cuddly but not clingy

• super gentle

Overall, Rocket is just easy to have in your home. For a puppy, he seems to have already moved into the mature dog phase.

One more fun fact, we named him Rocket because he gets the happiest and cutest zoomies!!!

Rocket is the kind of guy who will effortlessly and joyfully join your life and fall into the rhythm of your home.
