Meet our Co-producer Asaf!

What's one of your favorite OOB memories?

"My favorite OoB memory would have to be my first OoB in 2006 when I came with my duo Imp. and taught classes which inspired me to move to Austin less than 6 months later. I played for the first time on the Hideout stage which I would later produce shows for, met Andy Crouch who would later become my roommate, and stayed at one of the afterparties (when they were still held at someone's house) until 5am playing Encore."

What is one of your favorite comedy shows you've ever seen?

"Last year, I got to see Megan Flynn comedically climb on Ross Bryant ("Linda in the Winda" iykyk) when he guested with Girls Girls Girls, a show that ended with the most dissonant song, possibly the only, that a GGG show has ever ended with."

What's your favorite candy?

'I gotta go with Skor which is toffee covered with chocolate. It's like a Heath Bar, but fancier?"

Meet our Staff! Co-producer Ellen Pizarek
We asked some key questions of one of our fearless leaders!

What's one of your favorite OOB memories?

"I have loved so many performances, so many party moments, so many memories - but I think the one that is the most representative of my OOB experience and this amazing community was back when I was the Volunteer Coordinator and was training a volunteer new to Austin on how to check in performers at the registration table. As local performers arrived, I would recognize them and show my trainee the process. After a handful of check-ins, my trainee asked incredulously, "So you just know, like, 500 performers in Austin??!" And the answer is yeah, I do."

What is one of your favorite comedy shows you've ever seen?

"In 2017, the Hideout Theatre brought in duo FolkLordz from Rapid Fire Theater in Edmonton, Canada and it is still a show I think about constantly. It really changed how I thought about boldness on improv stages and what trusting the artform, and trusting your scene partner, really looks like."

What's your favorite candy?

"Skittles is my favorite - but only the original rainbow. Don't try to sneak those tropical flavors in on me."
