Need a ride to the polls? Facing a long line? We’ve got you covered. 🗳️

Early voting runs through Friday, Oct. 30th, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3rd. Here are three resources to help Texans get to the polls and cast their ballots:

🚗 LYFT: Add the code VOTE26 to your Lyft app before Election Day. It takes 50% off (up to $10) one ride to your polling place on Tuesday, Nov. 3rd, between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. It works on car, bike, and scooter rides. Learn more here: lyft.com/blog/posts/2026-voting-access-program

📞 GOGO GRANDPARENT: The League of Women Voters of Texas has partnered with GoGo Grandparent to help more Texans get to the polls. No smartphone or app needed. Just call and talk to a live operator, even from a home phone. When you sign up, you can let GoGo know about anything that will make your ride go smoothly, like a walker, cane, or wheelchair, a service dog, a portable oxygen tank, vision or hearing loss, or trouble getting into larger vehicles. You can also add a family member’s contact information. Call (855) 530-5030 or visit gogograndparent.com/lwvtexas to get started.

🍕 PIZZA TO THE POLLS: Stuck in a long line, or see one? Report it at polls.pizza with the polling place address, a photo of the line, and an estimated wait time. This nonpartisan nonprofit will send free food for everyone there: voters, their kids, and poll workers too!

Before you go, look up what’s on your ballot in our nonpartisan Voters Guide at VOTE411.org/lwvtx. Don’t forget your photo ID! And if you’re in line when the polls close, stay in line. You still have the right to vote.

Texas didn’t just show up for Day 1 of early voting. Texas showed OUT! Lines out the door, lawn chairs in the parking lot, and record-breaking turnout across the state.

These five counties set first-day records for a midterm election:
🗳️ Harris County: 129,000+ ballots, shattering its 2018 record
🗳️ Dallas County: 76,000+, its biggest first day EVER
🗳️ Collin County: 34,500+
🗳️ Denton County: 34,700+
🗳️ El Paso County: most in-person first-day votes ever for a midterm

Plus big numbers in Bexar (42,000+), Travis (40,000+), Hidalgo (20,000+), and Cameron (9,400+) counties! 🔥 And that’s just the counties that have reported SO FAR. More first-day records may still be on the way!

Texas has a record 19 million registered voters this year. Let’s keep the momentum going! Early voting runs through Oct. 30th, and Election Day is Nov. 3rd. NO. MORE. EXCUSES. Let's have a Texas-sized turnout this year!

Here is a great YouTube video from Texas Civil Rights Project about 2026 possible, and how AI deepfakes can impersonate trusted voices and mislead voters through fabricated videos, images, and audio.

This video also discusses the seizure of voting machines and election records, concerns surrounding law enforcement at the polls, and disruptions caused by natural disasters and human tragedies.

Learn how these threats can affect access to the ballot, election workers, and public confidence in the voting process. election threats, including mis and dis information ,

Using critical thinking skills is important to help you figure out what information is available. One tool to use before sharing information is the SIFT Method: S- stop, I- investigate the source, T-trace claims back to the orginal content, and F- find better coverage or other sources.

If you have trouble at the polls during Early Voting or on Election day, call the Election Protection hotline at 866-OUR-VOTE. You can get unbiased and nonpartisan information about candidates on your ballot from VOTE411 and from the League of Women Voters Guides.
