Girl Talk, Inc. We inspire all girls to develop the confidence to lead by empowering one girl at a time.

Girl Talk began in 2002 when one high school girl identified a problem and decided to make a difference. Haley Kilpatrick founded the first Girl Talk Chapter in Albany, Georgia to help her younger sister through the challenging years of middle school. Our peer-to-peer mentoring program offers high school girls the opportunity to mentor middle school girls during their most formative years. Meeting

s are a safe space for all girls to share and gain perspective on common experiences that have the potential to make a permanent impact on their lives. At Girl Talk, we believe there are no limits to a girl's potential and strive to create an environment that inspires, motivates, and cultivates confidence. And as we continue to expand throughout North America and beyond, we're committed to driving the dialogue for the next generation of women leaders. Our tagline, Leadership Defined, captures our commitment to being the reliable resource for all girls wanting to learn the language that will motivate them today, tomorrow, and beyond. As we look to the future of our organization, our foundation sits solidly on the tenant of leadership. It is our mission to equip all girls (ages 10-18) with the skills they need to feel confident in their abilities to lead. Part of the opportunity is properly educating our participants through leadership literacy, so that they can recognize the various styles, approaches, and characteristics of leadership, and then put them into practice. Girl Talk provides the platform necessary to support the next generation of women leaders through our programmatic offerings and the formation of a life-long network of leaders.

At Girl Talk Camp, 100+ girls from diverse backgrounds and unique life experiences come together to foster something transformative.

Campers form meaningful friendships, develop holistic leadership skills and grow confidence that support a lifetime of curiosity and connection. Each day, we witness girls stepping outside their comfort zone, finding common ground in unexpected places, and connecting with one another in ways they never imagined.

This week, four Campers, Kayley, Say, Merry and Hannah, have leaned into connections that initially surprised them, and in doing so, discovered a sense of belonging in more ways than one. 💜

Today, the wind brought Olympic swimmer and Silver Medalist, Maritza Correia McClendon and Olympic bobsledder, Macy Tarlton to the 16th annual Girl Talk Camp in Atlanta, GA!

In their dynamic panel, they showed our Campers and Counselors what it means to start young, build confidence, and turn bold curiosity into action.

Their stories are proof that no dream is too big when you choose to believe in yourself. In a room full of pre-teen and teen girls, their words sparked the courage to chase what lights them up and the confidence to create their own path.

For families like Crystal’s, Girl Talk Camp is the summer opportunity they have been searching for, and one they are grateful to have found for the girls in their lives.

With Girl Talk Camp kicking off next week, we invited new and returning families to share why Girl Talk Camp has been such a meaningful fit for their girls and families. Their stories are a powerful reminder of the confidence, leadership, and community our immersive peer-led experiences inspire.

Through the support of our scholarship fund, more girls can access transformational mentorship and leadership opportunities that shape their leadership journeys for years to come.

We’re excited to introduce Maritza McClendon, Olympic Silver Medalist and leadership speaker, as a facilitator at this year’s Girl Talk Camp.

As a history-making athlete and motivational speaker, Maritza empowers young people to overcome setbacks and believe in their potential.

This year’s theme, Curiosity in Motion, encourages Campers to explore who they are becoming through creativity and self-discovery. Maritza will be joining our ‘Women in Sports’ Panel, fostering an empowering conversation about confidence, community, and resilience.

Girl Talk Camp is an immersive day camp in Atlanta for rising 4th–8th grade girls, offering dynamic leadership development through interactive workshops, immersive girl-led sessions and community service. Through our unique peer-to-peer mentorship model, Campers and Counselors develop leadership skills, form lasting friendships, and learn from inspiring mentors and speakers from diverse backgrounds, like Maritza.

We’re so excited to welcome Maritza to Girl Talk Camp, and we can’t wait for our Campers to engage in her panel!
