Girl Talk began in 2002 when one high school girl identified a problem and decided to make a difference. Haley Kilpatrick founded the first Girl Talk Chapter in Albany, Georgia to help her younger sister through the challenging years of middle school. Our peer-to-peer mentoring program offers high school girls the opportunity to mentor middle school girls during their most formative years. Meetings are a safe space for all girls to share and gain perspective on common experiences that have the potential to make a permanent impact on their lives. At Girl Talk, we believe there are no limits to a girl's potential and strive to create an environment that inspires, motivates, and cultivates confidence. And as we continue to expand throughout North America and beyond, we're committed to driving the dialogue for the next generation of women leaders. Our tagline, Leadership Defined, captures our commitment to being the reliable resource for all girls wanting to learn the language that will motivate them today, tomorrow, and beyond. As we look to the future of our organization, our foundation sits solidly on the tenant of leadership. It is our mission to equip all girls (ages 10-18) with the skills they need to feel confident in their abilities to lead. Part of the opportunity is properly educating our participants through leadership literacy, so that they can recognize the various styles, approaches, and characteristics of leadership, and then put them into practice. Girl Talk provides the platform necessary to support the next generation of women leaders through our programmatic offerings and the formation of a life-long network of leaders.

As a girl-centered, peer-to-peer mentorship organization, we know the unique power of girls guiding, encouraging, and growing alongside one another during their formative years. We also know young leaders thrive when they have a strong network of support, including trusted adults. 🌱

Through Girl Talk Clubs, our year-round, nationwide extracurricular program, Adult Advisors provide guidance while giving girls the space to lead. They support Leaders as they plan and facilitate Club meetings, help Leaders navigate questions and challenges, and connect girls with resources from Girl Talk HQ.

For Adult Advisors, it’s an opportunity to serve with purpose, invest in the next generation, and offer girls the encouragement and support that can stay with them for years to come.

At 2026 Girl Talk Camp, Campers and Counselors joined facilitators from Chief, a professional network for senior women leaders, to develop and practice their personal pitches. Through this interactive experience, girls strengthened their ability to communicate with confidence, advocate for themselves, and build meaningful connections.

Each year at Girl Talk Camp, girls are immersed in experiences that encourage them to explore who they are, recognize their strengths, and build skills they can carry with them for years to come. 💜

When a girl experiences encouragement, guidance, and genuine belief from a mentor, especially a peer mentor, it can change the trajectory of her life and inspire her to invest in others for years to come. 💜

The Girl Talk Curriculum, the foundation of our Girl Talk Clubs program, is filled with lessons, conversation starters, and leadership challenges that empower girls to encourage rather than compete, celebrate one another's accomplishments, and foster shared growth in every area of their lives.

At this year’s Girl Talk Camp, girls engaged with child and adolescent mental health therapist Kaela Jackson to strengthen self-belief by creating affirmation keychains.

Campers and Counselors explored where the harmful messages we repeat to ourselves can come from, how to challenge them, and how to fill their cups with positive reminders instead.

Through creative expression, they built self-confidence and practiced speaking to themselves with greater kindness and compassion.
