What was Trees Atlanta like in the 90's?

In the 90's, we had just reached milestones like kicking-off a multi-million dollar Olympic Downtown Improvement Project, where 318 trees were planted in and around Centennial Olympic Park and helping save Morningside Nature Preserve.

Now with over 40 years in community forestry and surpassing over 180,000 trees planted, Trees Atlanta carries the same values, and the commitment to enhancing our community through trees.

The Tree of the Month for May is the Umbrella magnolia (Magnolia tripetala) The plant is typically found in the rich, moist woods, ravines, slopes and sides of streams in the Appalachian Mountains. Most notably known for its large leaves that are clustered at end of stems, near the bud.

Check out our magnolia collections on the Atlanta Beltline, visit our Beltline map here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/viewer?mid=1oCtAvrb4AFD7ehNJ-pbPCNS4hWRsgp8&ll=33.779059765073534%2C-84.3665121228026&z=18
