We are an all volunteer group in the Metro Atlanta area that works 24/7 for the forgotten animals of surrounding areas. We focus our efforts on the more rural areas where there is little other help. Queen Winnifred, aka Winnie, has declared summer officially here…which means watermelon!! She LOVES watermelon

Winnie joined us over a year and a half ago after wandering a rural area of South Georgia, visiting bus stops to greet the children as they got off the bus. Since then she’s been soaking up all the love in her foster home, but it’s just not the same as a real forever home! Winnie is about 6 yrs old and a big girl at 75 lbs. Don’t be put off by her size though - she is the ultimate gentle giant! Great with other dogs, cats, and absolutely adores children…Winnie truly is pure perfection!

🎉🎉🎉PUPDATE🎉🎉🎉

Back in June of 2020, we rescued a few JRT mix siblings who hadn’t gotten off to the best start in life. Timid and scared, these babies needed some extra TLC and that’s exactly what little Mac got when his dads adopted him just a few weeks later! Check out the 6 yr anniversary update we just received….

“You likely remember we already had a dog, Roscoe (the brown/white dog in pic). The minute they lived together they became best brothers and haven't been separated since. Mac, and Roscoe, get the best healthcare a food money can buy them. Mac even entered a Halloween contest! Since we live in the city, we find it important to make a trip twice a year to St. Simons Island. We always rent the same house because it has a big, enclosed yard and they can run free there. Mac loves his parents and every night he can't sleep unless he is cuddled up to one of us. You do an amazing job and it has made a difference in all four of our lives!”

We are so so glad Mac has found the perfect Happily Ever After he so deserves!!

🌞🏖️🌞SUMMER FUN🌞🏖️🌞

Now that summer has officially begun, it’s time to start planning all of your fun adventures!! And what would be better than sharing those adventures with a furry friend?!?!

RMG relies on fosters to not only house the dogs in our rescue but also work on things like socialization and basic training. Hikes in the woods, lunch on the patio, summer barbecues are all great ways to help a dog experience the fun side of life they never saw before rescue. It is so rewarding to be there for all of a dog’s “firsts” - to see the light enter their eyes with each new discovery!

Like any decent, self-respecting Type A personality would, Wuby’s foster mom has come up with a Pro/Con list for Wuby….check it out!

“Wuby pro/con list:

Pros: she’s super low maintenance and portable. I bathed her this morning in about 10 minutes and her fur dries immediately. She sheds when I bathe her but I haven’t noticed it in my house. She is totally fine to sleep most of the days - will find a ray of sunshine like a cat and snooze for hours. Fully potty trained. Totally fine with cats.

Possibly a pro or a con… 1) she LOVES people. Wants to say hi to everyone and licks your hands while she gets pets. 2) super food motivated - meal time is like the first time she’s ever been fed, EVERY time.

Con: she wants to be so close that sometimes she steps on my flip flop while I walk. She’s not needy because she’s fine all day while I work with zero attention and she doesn’t have to sit on me but she is definitely NOT going to let you leave her out of the fun.

True con: tends to want to jump out of the car when I open the door which is a little scary depending on where we are. I have a harness and a dog seatbelt that I make her wear because it freaks me out.”

Rescue followers, friends, adopters, and EVERYONE that you can share this with in the Douglasville area of Georgia - a very scared dog needs our help.

Last month we joined forces with 2 other rescues to save a group of poodle/doodles from a situation in Lamar County. One of the MOST SKITTISH fostering with one of the rescues slipped out yesterday and we want to spread the news for them too. DON’T chase just help us alert the rescue with the number below

Two year old Ralph was bounced around a lot before joining our RMG family back in October. Originally living with a family who was concerned about his size around their kids (even though he did great with the kids), he was given to a second family where he was living outside all of the time.

When Ralph arrived at his foster home, he was intrigued by the other dogs but also kind of confused. We don’t think he had spent much time around other dogs. Now that he has discovered how much fun life is with friends, he can’t wait to go out and play play play!! This young, energetic and playful boy is looking for a true Forever Family who has another dog friend for him to play with.

🎉🎉PUPDATE🎉🎉

Back in late 2025, we rescued a “spicy” little guy who had been surrendered to a metro area shelter by an elderly woman who could no longer care for him. Nothing else was known about his past but it soon became evident he had not been socialized and had likely been mistreated. It took several weeks of TLC before Rueben was even ready to begin looking for his Forever Home.

Luckily, Rueben didn’t have to wait long for his perfect family to find him! It was love at first sight between Rueben and his new dads, Gregory and Matthew! We were honestly shocked at how seamlessly Rueben made the transition. Now, about 4 months later, he is happier than he has ever been. Gregory reports that Rueben’s new favorite hobbies are chasing Dad around the dog park and playing tug - but only if Dad holds the other end of the toy in his mouth too! Is that not the most hilarious thing?!

Evie has declared pool - or pond - season officially open!!

Evie was so shut down when we rescued her a few months ago. Now, thanks to the help of the other dogs in her foster home, she is a completely different dog! She’s finally learned how to play and feels comfortable enough to do it!

Owen LOVES when it’s time for a little photo shoot because that means he gets undivided attention- he’s such a little ham!!

Owen is one of a group of poodle mixes that joined us a little over a month ago from a very unfortunate situation in rural Georgia. Having not received much socialization as he was growing up, he can be a bit shy at first but he quickly becomes Mr. Personality once he gets to know you! Owen is great with other dogs and cats but, in true poodle nature, once he’s done playing with his friends he likes to be right by his person’s side.
