Update on Ellie and Eddie… and oh what a difference in their first pictures and today. It’s only been a few weeks since we shared their rescue story … but both are now thriving and are TRULY happy dogs in every way.

Ellie has started husky talking, she’s finally got an appetite and gets so excited playing! She’s still quite petite for her breed but seriously a love despite what she’s been through. Eddie is putting on weight and smiling all the time! He’s just a happy go lucky dude !

We’re asked all the time about groomers ….so wanted to share a new one we recently met and adore!
Koti grooms at Barking Hound Village on Roswell Road near the Trader Joe’s shopping center. You don’t have to be a boarder or day care dog to see groomer Koti, BUT we LOVE their staff and highly recommend checking and trying them out - a couple RMG dogs are having a blast at daycare today and the staff has worked one on one with a few of our dogs that just needed to meet new people. Happy Monday from Missy!

Last week when we ran by Dekalb’s Lifeline to help in a situation - we met this little muffin!!! We knew we had to bring her into the rescue, and make sure she found the perfect HOME she deserved ! We met her awesome Dekalb foster mom who was thrilled she would be a RMG gal …

Missy is about 2-3 yrs old and only about 25 lbs. She’s a happy, playful, wiggly ball of love! She’s looking for a family with a fenced yard and another playful dog to run around with. Missy has also added that there should be a plentiful amount of belly rubs included with her adoption but no experience required in that department…she’s more than happy to train!

🎉🎉PUPDATE🎉🎉

Y’all have heard us say time and again how everything always makes sense in the end as far as why an absolutely amazing and perfect dog will stay with us for the longest time. It’s ALWAYS because their family that they are destined to be with just hasn’t found them yet. That’s exactly what happened with Gracie who waited over a year!! Check out what her mom Patty has to say….

“On August 11,2026, we lost our dog Tegan after 8.5 years. We had rescued Tegan through Angels Among Us in April 2018, a month after we had lost our first rescue mutt Rocky. Tegan healed our broken hearts and in November 2020, we rescued Mando, a true rescue scrawny stray saved from coyotes in Stone Mountain. Together Tegan and Mando were our dynamic duo. After Tegan crossed the rainbow bridge, we were all grieving, Mando especially. Mando didn’t zoom in his yard and food wasn’t appealing. We were all so sad and we wanted another fur baby to heal our hearts. After failed attempts through previous rescues, we were feeling lost. Debra Costello, another dog mom and rescuer, informed me of Rescue me Ga. She immediately contacted Adrienne, and sent me all their contact info. I emailed Adrienne that same day and that night my husband, kids and I went through the adoptable dogs and applied. The next day Marybeth called us and spent a lot of time educating us on Rescue Me GAs mission and made some very helpful recommendations. That same weekend she came to our home with a few dogs and it was an amazing experience. Marybeth knew what, rather who, we needed. When she brought out Gracie, we all knew she was our girl. Mando came back to life! He started zooming his yard, and was immediately attached to his new sister. After day 3 we knew, she was meant to join our family. On 9/25 (dolly Parton day) the adoption was official. Thank you MaryBeth, Adrienne and shout out to Debra Costello for the assistance in helping us find our girl! 🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾

🐶🐶 SENIOR SUNDAY🐶🐶

This week’s Senior Sunday spotlight is shining bright on Hardy!! Although, we don’t dare tell him that he is technically a senior now!

11 yr old Hardy was originally adopted as a puppy from Dekalb County shelter back in 2015. Fast forward to Spring 2026 and poor Hardy was picked up as a stray wandering the countryside about 2 hours outside of Atlanta and taken to a rural shelter in the county he was found. Thankfully, staff at that shelter traced his microchip back to the original implanting facility - Dekalb County - and a Lifeline volunteer drove out to pick him up and bring him back to Atlanta. That’s when we heard about him and, well, the rest is history as they say…

Hardy is absolutely amazing with all dogs and just LOVES to play! He has nominated himself as resident lifeguard in his foster home and makes sure to keep a close eye on his foster siblings when they go for a dip in the pool. Not surprisingly, being dumped after such a long time, has left Hardy with just a bit of anxiety but we’ve started him on some Prozac and that’s just made a world of difference in his life. He’s just the happiest and most playful guy who wants nothing more than his very own person to spend the rest of his days with!

So SERIOUSLY, this might be the MOST FUN you’ve had in a long time …..you are guaranteed to smile and laugh and see special bonds between people and their dogs - and dag-on-it, do we not NEED that with all going on in the world right now ????

We are THRILLED for the beautiful, cooler day that Dream Rescue will have tomorrow at their annual HOWL-O-WEENIE in Dunwoody. It’s a rescue group we love, and have worked with lots over the years and just seeing hundreds of dachshund lovers with their babes walking around watching and enjoying the day is PRICELESS !

Please share with all your dachshund buddies and help them make this a very successful day - and the vendors will have great doxie stuff !

There’s nothing like seeing sooooo many dachshund’s in one place - loving being among their own kind - it’s a hoot ! Please share and def add this to your weekend plans.

Barley is feeling like a new man!!

Barley was a hot mess when we rescued him several weeks ago! Not only was he under socialized and scared of the world, but he definitely had never been groomed in his entire one year of life. Now after a few weeks of TLC and confidence building, not to mention a full shave down, Barley is a happy and playful guy ready to find his forever home!

Barley is a Shih Tzu mix weighing in at right around 15 lbs. He’s already a year old, so he is fully grown. This amazing little guy is great with other dogs, cats, and kids! He’s looking for a home with at least one other playful dog around his size and a person who is home most of the time. Barley bonds to his people quickly and loves them beyond measure, so a stay at home parent or someone who works from home would be perfect for him! Lastly, Barley does need a fenced yard - his leash skills are most definitely a work in progress.

RMG alumna, Waffles, recently took part in arguably one of the most important days of her life - She got to be right by her mom’s side every step of the way on her wedding day! Mom, Olivia, calls Waffles the “light of her life” and loved having her as her Bridesmaid!

Hubie Brown just hit a milestone that no dog in rescue really wants to hit….one full year waiting to be adopted! When we saved him last September, it was right after the former NBA coach with the same name had retired. Human Hubie Brown had been a coach for over 50 years and had won two Coach of the Year awards. So we figured surely the name is good luck but it hasn’t brought any of that good luck to our Hubie Brown yet…

Hubie is a hound mix who is not quite two years old. Over the past year, we have watched him go from a rambunctious teen pup to a handsome and loving adult. He’s great with other dogs and loves taking turns between playing with his friends and helping Foster Mom in the flower garden.
