📢HB 185 is officially law in Georgia! 🍑

Today marks a historic milestone for dietetics and nutrition practice in our state. After more than three years of advocacy, collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and legislative work, Governor Brian Kemp has signed HB 185 into law.

HB 185 modernizes Georgia’s Dietetics Practice Act for the first time since 1994 and reenacts the statute as the Dietetics and Nutrition Practices Act.

The new law:
• Modernizes licensure standards
• Strengthens public protection
• Clarifies professional pathways and scope
• Supports participation in the Dietitian Licensure Compact
• Helps strengthen access to qualified nutrition care across Georgia

This achievement reflects the dedication and persistence of GAND leadership, the Government Affairs Committee, legislative champions, advocacy partners, and members across the state.

Thank you to everyone who helped move this effort forward 🎉
