Livable Buckhead Livable Buckhead strives to ensure the long term vitality and prosperity of the Buckhead community.

Buckhead is located about four miles north of Atlanta’s central business district and is defined as the 28 square mile area encompassing approximately 21 million square feet of office space, over 5,000 hotel rooms, 1,400 retail outlets, 200 dining establishments, 21,600 multi-family units and 16,300 individual homes. Buckhead is served by two mass transit rail lines, three rail stations, 14 bus ro

utes, three limited-access highways, two federal highways and five state highways. Buckhead has experienced tremendous growth in the past few decades. Since 1985 it has become the central focus for business activity within the city of Atlanta and has seen a doubling of employment opportunities with the addition of 34,000 new jobs (55% increase). The residential base has also grown significantly with the addition of more than 10,500 (20% increase) residents in the same time period, however, the daytime population more than triples the residential base with the influx of employees, visitors and shoppers.

Our BuckheadCOMPOSTS community is composting away 🌱♻️ and we’ve been so excited to see the engagement already building across our participating properties!

For May, we’re tackling one of the biggest composting topics out there: contamination 👀 What doesn’t belong in the bin can be just as important as what does.

This month’s challenge is simple:
🎬 Watch 2 quick videos about the most common compost contaminants
📝 Complete the short challenge form
🏆 The property with the highest participation wins FREE rides on The Buc — the perfect way to get around Buckhead and skip the traffic 🚍

Keeping contamination low helps CompostNow create clean, nutrient-rich compost and makes life a whole lot easier for the folks sorting materials by hand behind the scenes 💚

Complete the challenge through the BuckheadCOMPOSTS link in our Linktree in bio!

Heads up, Buckhead. A major section of I-285 on Atlanta’s west side will be fully closed from Friday night through early Monday morning for reconstruction work. Expect heavier traffic on the top end perimeter, GA-400, I-75/85 connector routes, and throughout Buckhead travel corridors as major interstate closures often create rolling traffic impacts across the metro area.

Closure begins Friday, May 15 at 7 PM and is scheduled to reopen Monday, May 18 at 5 AM. Plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and check traffic conditions before heading out. More information and sign up for traffic alerts: https://livablebuckhead.com/trafficalerts/

🚶‍♀️✨ That’s a WRAP on buckheadWALKS! 2026 ✨🚶‍♂️
What an incredible month of movement, community, fresh air, lunch break strolls, scavenger hunts, MARTA rides, PATH400 selfies, Run Club nights, and so many unforgettable moments around Buckhead. 💚

Throughout April, participants showed up BIG by logging walks, biking trips, transit rides, telework days, volunteering, exploring local businesses, and proving that sustainable transportation can be fun, social, and rewarding. 🌎👟

Collectively we traveled 71,177 miles which equates to 108 million steps and over 1,600 bonus activities were submitted during the challenge. Together we were able to help reduce 29 tons of CO2 emissions. That’s like driving from Atlanta to Savannah 145 times!

From discovering amazing local spots like Rosetta, South City Kitchen, Industry Tavern, and Chick-fil-A Peachtree & Piedmont to joining us for Lunch Time Strolls, Buckhead Run Club, Earth Day celebrations, and bike education sessions, this challenge truly brought the community together. 🙌

This year’s challenge was filled with exciting giveaways, local experiences, fun surprises, and opportunities to support Buckhead businesses all month long. 🏆✨

A HUGE thank you to all of our sponsors and partners who helped make buckheadWALKS! 2026 possible:

And of course, THANK YOU to every single participant who walked with us this year. You made this challenge special. 💚
Until next year, keep moving, keep exploring, and keep choosing sustainable ways to get around Buckhead. 🚲🚶🚌

Today is the day. The planters are in place along PATH400, turning what was a concept into something you can see, walk past, and experience. The transformation next to Marian Road Highrise is now real. Today the focus shifts to what matters most. The community comes out to plant, fill, and bring it to life. Shipped from Miami to Atlanta. Not long ago, these planters were being printed layer by layer. Now they are in Buckhead. Created using large-scale 3D concrete printing, the process significantly reduces material use and compresses what would typically take weeks into just a few days. It is a different way of building, and it shows. What was digital is now becoming permanent. It started this week.

On Monday, crews began dismantling the original wood planters that had been in place for nearly a decade, removing aging materials and clearing the way for what comes next. Just steps from Marian Road Highrise, the space is being rebuilt with a longer-term vision, designed to be more durable, more accessible, and more connected to the trail. The teardown is complete. What comes next moves fast. Quikrete Tower Beer, Wine & Spirits The Home Depot Foundation Buckhead Coalition Buckhead Community Improvement District Belter Tech Inc.

Something new is taking shape on PATH400.

Nine years after the original wood planters were installed next to Marian Road Highrise, it is time for a longer-term solution. The space is now being transformed into a bold, permanent feature. New planters will spell out PATH400, turning a simple edge into something people notice and gather around. Built using 3D-printed concrete, the process reduces material and speeds up construction. Over the next few days, it all comes together. Quikrete Tower Beer, Wine & Spirits The Home Depot Foundation Buckhead Coalition Buckhead Community Improvement District Belter Tech Inc.
