On Veterans Day, we solemnly remember the significance of the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month, marking the end of World War I in 1918. Originally called Armistice Day, it was a time to honor those who fought in The Great War. In 1954, after the monumental impact of World War II and the Korean War, the United States renamed the day Veterans Day, expanding the recognition to all veterans. This day is now dedicated to appreciating all service members who have served our nation with valor, both in times of war and peace. Veterans Day is a time to honor and remember the bravery and sacrifice of all U.S. veterans, past and present. As we commemorate Veterans Day this 2023, let's take a moment to reflect on the selfless service of these men and women who have donned the uniform to protect our freedoms.

To our veterans – we owe you our thanks, but more than that, we owe you our freedom. Your duty and courage stand as an example to us all. Today, let us remember your achievements, your courage, and your dedication, and say thank you for your sacrifices.

Thinking of the heroes who join us in the celebration today and those who are only with us in spirit, we can't help but feel awed by the enormity of what we owe to all of our veterans. Let's use this day to start conversations, to extend our gratitude, and to remember as we look forward to the future, we also never forget the past.
