We were delighted to welcome back Laura Espinoza of Clear Channel Outdoor as a Mystery Reader. Her visit brought plenty of smiles, curiosity, and connection.

YWCA Greater Atlanta was proud to join neighbors, community partners, and local leaders for NPU-V's National Night Out 2026, celebrating the connections that help our neighborhoods thrive.

Our team had a wonderful time introducing residents to our programs and services and sharing how we are creating pathways for women, girls, and families across metro Atlanta.

Connection is one of the strongest foundations of leadership.

Our Georgia Women's Policy Institute alumni recently gathered for an evening of candle making at Linwood Court, tucked inside Citizen Supply at Ponce City Market.

It was a joy to bring together women from different GWPI cohorts to reconnect, share experiences, and build new relationships. We're also grateful to the team at Linwood Court, a Black woman-owned business, for creating such a welcoming space for our community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and poured into this special moment. We look forward to continuing to strengthen this growing network of women leaders and advocates working to create positive change across Georgia. 🧡

YWCA Greater Atlanta President & CEO Danita V. Knight joined the Georgia Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's 2026 Leadership Atlanta graduation celebration as a featured panelist.

During the conversation, Danita shared insights on community leadership, engaging with purpose at every stage of a career, saying "yes" and "no" with intention, and how board service and nonprofit leadership can create opportunities for lasting impact.

Improving health outcomes begins with meeting women where they are.

Over the past several weeks, our ENCOREplus team has partnered with community organizations across metro Atlanta to connect women with trusted breast health education, resources, and support.

From hosting a workshop with Decatur Housing Authority residents to participating in the Los Bravos Un Equipo event hosted by the Atlanta Braves for the Spanish-speaking community and sharing healthy living and breast health information through the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Fulton Fresh program, each touchpoint reflects our commitment to expanding access to resources that can save lives.

Every conversation helps empower women to navigate their health journey with confidence.

One of our favorite traditions is Headshot Day, and we're grateful to have partnered with Ulta Beauty once again to help our participants look and feel their best before stepping in front of the camera.

Thanks to Ulta's talented beauty professionals, DSA participants received complimentary makeup touch-ups and hairstyling before their professional photo sessions, creating an experience that reminded each woman she deserves to show up confidently and authentically.

At DSA, we believe little things can open big doors. A professional headshot is more than just a photo — it's often someone's first introduction to you. Whether you're updating your LinkedIn profile, building your personal brand, or making a new professional connection, your headshot begins telling your story before you ever get the chance to.

As we celebrate the 250th birthday of the United States, we honor our nation's full story, and that story cannot be told without the women – especially the women of color – who built it alongside the men whose names fill our textbooks.

For more than 165 of America's 250 years, the YWCA movement has stood at the intersection of racial and gender justice, helping our country move closer to its ideals. Our history is not separate from America's story — it is woven into it.

From trailblazers like Dr. Dorothy Irene Height, Rosetta Evelyn Lawson, Grace Hoadley Dodge, and Julia Morgan to the women leading change in our communities today, their courage and vision remind us that progress has always been led by those willing to expand opportunity and challenge injustice.

For more than 120 years, YWCA Greater Atlanta has proudly carried that legacy forward — working to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all in our region.

As we reflect on our nation's past, we recommit ourselves to creating a stronger future for women, girls, and families.

On this day in 1964, the Civil Rights Act became law — prohibiting discrimination based on race, color, religion, s*x, or national origin in employment, education, and public accommodations. Its passage was made possible by courageous activists and leaders who refused to accept injustice and fought tirelessly for change.

Today, this anniversary carries even deeper meaning. It reminds us that progress is not guaranteed — and that the fight for justice must continue.

At YWCA Greater Atlanta, that conviction remains at the heart of our work as we expand opportunity for women, girls, and families.
