Activism, but make it cozy. 🧶✨
If you're looking for a space to care for your community while doing something good for your own soul, the Gwinnett County Craftivists group is for you. We meet once a month to create simple projects centered around mutual aid and justice—no crafting skills needed, we promise!

It is worship week at the Collective, and this week we're looking at Matthew 25 - the story of Jesus separating the sheep and the goats.

Together we will explore what this story tells us about heaven, hell, and how one receives salvation.

See you Sunday at 5pm at 743 Virginia Ave NE. We are saving a sit just for you (and all of your friends, too!).

If your faith feels complicated, disorganized, or a little broken right now, you are in good company. At The Collective, we are building a space where you can show up exactly as you are. No pretending required.

We care about real connection and shared life, far beyond just sitting in a room for an hour. Your messy faith belongs here. Bring your questions, your doubts, and your true self this weekend. We are gathering for worship, Kid's Church, and a community meal.

The theology we’ve been handed is failing us in our darkest moments.

We try to construct narratives about God, humanity, and the afterlife to bring comfort, but too often, they do the exact opposite. The prevailing framework of American Christianity has convinced so many that they are unworthy, not good enough, and destined for damnation. When a loved one is facing the end of their life, these beliefs don't offer solace. They only bring terror.

An afterlife story that separates us forever from the people we love is a deeply damaging narrative. The truth is, the fear-based version of hell we've been sold isn't actually what scripture points to when we read it in its original, historical context. It is time to rethink these inherited beliefs and seek a faith that actually offers peace in the midst of profound grief.

Join us for worship this Sunday at 5pm for part 2 of this series.

We’re hosting a church cookout on June 19th!

We’ve got the smoked meat, burgers, and hot dogs covered, and the volleyball net will be set up.

All we ask is that you bring a side dish or dessert to share.

Honestly, this is one of the best events of the year to invite a friend. If you know someone looking for deeper connection, or who might even be a little skeptical about church, bring them along!

A theology that causes more pain than peace is not a theology of grace.

In the deepest moments of grief and heartbreak, the last thing anyone needs is a rigid faith that demands transactional certainty before offering comfort. Too many people have encountered a version of religion that feels more intent on policing who is “in” or “out” rather than healing those who are actively hurting.

True grace does not require us to earn our peace, nor does it wait for us to have it all figured out before showing up.

We are called to tell a better story. We need a narrative aligned with a radical, unconditional love that meets us in our absolute worst moments, exactly as we are.

The victory over death and the grave belongs to all people. It belongs to the loved ones you have lost, the people who will come after us, and it belongs directly to you. Let us leave behind the fear-based narratives and lean into a hope that refuses to leave anyone behind.

What if the traditional concept of hell wasn't even in the original Bible?

For generations, mainstream Christian theology has weaponized the afterlife, using fear and manipulation to police human behavior. In this opening message of our series, Heaven, Hell, and the Lies We've Been Sold, Pastor Michael deconstructs the toxic narratives that cause profound anxiety during our deepest moments of grief.

Too often in the worst moments of your life, the stories that you've heard about God make you feel more pain than peace.

By examining everything from Pascal’s Wager to Plato’s ancient philosophy, we explore how Western religion adopted a carrot-and-stick mentality that ignores humanity’s essential goodness.

This message is for anyone who has felt unworthy, experienced existential dread, or felt judged by religious dogma. It is time to tell a better story. Join us as we reclaim a progressive Christian theology that honors our complexity as both sinner and saint, anchoring our lives in a radical, unconditional love that belongs to you right now.
