The Life of George Rishfeld

As an infant in Nazi-occupied Poland, George Rishfeld’s life began with an act of unimaginable courage. Thrown over the barbed-wire fence of the Vilna Ghetto into the waiting arms of a young woman named Halinka, George was saved in a moment that would define his entire life.
Halinka and her family—at great personal risk—hid George throughout the war, raising him as their own, bringing him into the world beyond hiding, even taking him to church to protect his identity.

Join us for a powerful evening as George shares his extraordinary story of survival, sacrifice, and the quiet heroism that made his life possible. A living testament to resilience and the enduring strength of the human spirit, this is a story that must be heard—and remembered.

Because he was saved… so that he could tell his story.
