SCLC Stands for Voting Rights in Montgomery
This weekend, all roads lead south to Montgomery, Alabama, for a powerful National Day of Action for Voting Rights.
SCLC is proud to stand with civil rights organizations, faith leaders, organizers, and communities from across the nation as we gather on sacred ground to honor the legacy of the movement and recommit ourselves to the fight ahead.
The day begins Saturday, May 16, 2026, with prayer and remembrance at 9:00 a.m. at the Edmund Pettus Bridge in Selma, followed by a 1:00 p.m. rally at the Alabama State Capitol in Montgomery. Thousands are expected to gather in defense of voting rights and the promise of a democracy where every voice is heard and every vote counts.
SCLC President/CEO DeMark Liggins will be in attendance, joining leaders and advocates who continue to carry forward the unfinished work of justice, equality, and voting rights for all.
