First Step Staffing Staffing with a heart— empowering individuals with job opportunities, building self-sustainability. First Step is a staffing company with a heart.

We actively seek out the employees that other staffing companies turn away. We're fighting homelessness and poverty in Atlanta with jobs. First Step seeks to help military veterans, people with disabilities, previously incarcerated men and women, and those experiencing homelessness. We make it easier to get back to work, by providing wrap-around services for our employees including job coaching, rides to work and uniform materials when necessary. We take walk-ins to our office at 236 Auburn Ave (suite 203) Monday through Friday mornings at 9AM. Two forms of ID are required for application. If you're unable to work, First Step Benefits has attorneys on staff to help you make the most of the government support available to you. Partnership goes far beyond the workplace. 💙

Our VP of the Northeast Region, Liz Henderson, and PA Regional Sales Manager, Matt Von Rohr, had the opportunity to attend a wonderful event organized by the Quad Graphics team to support a coworker recovering from a serious injury.

It meant so much to be there supporting one of our valued customers as their team came together to take care of one of their own. Moments like these are a powerful reminder of what community, compassion, and showing up for one another truly look like.

to the last few weeks of September — and a reminder that creating opportunity takes a whole lot of people willing to show up and make it happen. 💙

From Oswego to Syracuse, we’ve been incredibly grateful for the welcome we’ve received from the community and from partners like Jubilee Homes of Syracuse, who opened their doors and helped us connect with people ready for their next opportunity.

But there’s also a lot that happens before the doors ever open.

A special shoutout to our First Step team members Monica, Liz, Ivin, Jamie, Brad, Lindsay, Emma and Eric, who helped coordinate, travel, connect, recruit, problem-solve, and bring all the pieces together. Some made the trip, others helped make sure everything was ready before the team ever arrived — and every part mattered.

Most importantly, thank you to the Syracuse and Oswego communities for trusting First Step, welcoming our team, sharing our information, sending people our way, and giving us the opportunity to do what we do best: connect people with work and a chance to move forward.

We came to New York to fill jobs. We’re leaving with new partnerships, stronger community connections, and even more reason to keep showing up.

And we’re just getting started.

Sometimes the biggest transformation begins with something simple: someone believing there’s still a way forward.

A little support. A little consistency. Someone willing to meet you where you are and remind you that your circumstances don’t define where your story ends.

Through First Step Staffing’s Disability Services, individuals receive personalized support as they navigate the disability benefits process and the challenges that can come along the way. For Stephanie, that support became part of finding her way forward.

Her journey reminds us that hope can return, dignity can be restored, and even during the hardest seasons, a first step can change everything.
We’re honored to be part of hers. 💛
