This past weekend at China Peak Enduro, I announced something that I’ve known was coming for a while, but when the moment arrived, I found it much harder to say than I expected.
This will be the final season of the California Enduro Series.
I had so much I wanted to say, but standing in front of everyone, the words just didn’t come.
Fourteen years ago, we started CES with no idea where the journey would take us. Looking back now, we’re overwhelmed with gratitude for what this community has become.
We’ve made lifelong friends, shared countless laughs, created incredible memories, and collected stories we’ll be telling for years. We’ve watched young kids grow up racing with us, seen families make CES weekends a tradition, and watched riders use this series as a stepping stone to accomplish amazing things. Knowing we played even a small role in those journeys means more than we can express.
But more than anything, it’s the people we’ll remember. You have become our extended family. The friendships, the encouragement, the trail-side conversations, the celebrations, and even the muddy, rainy, chaotic race days—we wouldn’t trade any of it.
To every racer, volunteer, promoter, sponsor, land manager, photographer, family member, and friend who has been part of CES over the last 14 years… thank you. You are the reason this series became what it did.
We’re not done yet.
We have two races left, so let’s make them count. Let’s send it two more times!
And if you haven’t raced with us in a few years, dust off that bike and come join us one last time. We’d love nothing more than to see some familiar faces back on the start line as we celebrate this final chapter together.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for giving us one of the greatest experiences of our lives.
We’ll see you at the races.
❤️ Megan and Steven
