Rogue Food Unites

Rogue Food Unites Disaster relief meals, prepared by local restaurants, delivered to survivors of the Almeda Fire in Southern Oregon. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. 24/7/365. Dinner.

Southern Oregon is in the midst of a crisis born from fire. The Almeda/Glenview Fire burned over 2,400 homes leaving more than 4,000 people suddenly homeless and 42,000 residents displaced. Rogue Food Unites and our community of restaurants and food growers is responding. With the support of the American Red Cross and World Central Kitchen, Rogue Food Unites is collaborating with food businesses,

farms, and local aid organizations to meet the acute demand for regional support with a community-driven meal preparation and delivery program. Meals prepared with ingredients from local farms by local restaurants are delivered to locations in Southern Oregon where residents displaced by the Almeda/Glendower fire receive the food they need. At a time when the local economy in the Rogue Valley is already struggling due to the pandemic, every dollar invested in Rogue Food Unites ensures that local restaurant workers keep working, local farmers keep farming, and displaced residents impacted by the fires are supported nutritionally and emotionally through food. Rogue Food Unites pays all participating farms to provide fresh, flavorful, local ingredients to restaurants who are paid to prepare the food. As a result, our vibrant regional food system stays strong and intact. Restaurants stay in business and are able to pay their staff, their rent, and do what they do best: feed hungry people. With each new donation and investment into Rogue Food Unites, the number of people we can reach grows daily. With every new restaurant or farm that signs on, we find a new well of untapped community strength and resiliency. SUPPORT NEIGHBORHOOD RESTAURANTS AND OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILIES WHO NEED FOOD WITH A TAX-DEDUCTIBLE DONATION NOW!

>> Hear the Call

Rogue Food Unites, partnered with the American Red Cross, is coordinating with aid organizations, churches, shelters, public schools, and community leaders to identify where impacted residents can receive food. We can immediately reach over a thousand people who need our consistent support with meals. Rogue Food Unites is already serving thousands of daily meals with local and international organizations’ financial assistance. World Central Kitchen, Chef José Andrés’s relief aid organization, and Operation BBQ Relief have stepped up to provide funds for the initiation of our meal service. The United Way of Jackson County has committed to providing us with fiscal sponsorship. We are seeking donations from national foodservice companies already invested in our communities, like Sodexo, Sysco, US Foods, Food Services of America, and OGC (Organically Grown Co.), further maximizing the cycling of funds through restaurants and our local economy. Support neighborhood restaurants and our friends and families who need food by DONATING NOW through the United Way.

We're so grateful to our local partners that are not only doing amazing things but also support the work that Rogue Food Unites is doing in our community.

True South Solar loaned us their generator so that food trucks who needed it could provide free hot meals onsite at community outreach and mutual aid events.

Thank you, True South Solar!

As we end this year and welcome the next, we would like to take a moment to recognize all that we have collectively accomplished. These past few years have been long and hard, and there is always joy to be found.

We have the best jobs.

We have the opportunity to give beautiful food to so many people.
We have expanded our services to be able to support not only those who were impacted by wildfires, but also those who are in more rural food deserts and lack access to healthy ingredients. We have completed 10 weeks of our no-cost mobile farmers market in Jackson County and served over 11,000 individuals with fresh organic produce and eggs.

This program has been nothing short of amazing.

We have been able to meet and know so many neighbors we never knew. We laugh, cry, hug and dance our way through the markets whether it is raining or shining. Thank you for joining us on these special evenings. We have fruitful relationships with so many local community organizations and businesses. We would not be here if it weren’t for these partnerships. We have the most wonderful growing team of people working to continue to better serve our Oregon community food needs. Our goal is to be here until the need is no longer.

Thank you for your belief in Rogue Food Unites.
Happy New Year
