At our next Pitch Party, you’ll hear directly from someone who’s been in your shoes.

Amanda Wilde pitched at a Pitch Party last November with no income, no open doors, and an idea she was still refining. She’s coming back on May 26th to tell us what happened next.

Hatch Pitch Party. May 26th, 6:00 - 8:30 PM.
Hatch Event Space, 45 S French Broad Ave, Asheville.
Free and open to all.
Arrive early at 5:15 PM for mentor prep.

Where was she when she pitched?
“We were just at the ground level. We hadn’t started making any income. We were just really focused on outreach and sharing and refining our idea.”

What did the Pitch Party give her?
“Each time you speak in public about your idea, you get a little more comfortable. You refine what you’re really trying to say.”

And what would she tell you?
“There’s never gonna be a perfect time. The worst thing that would happen is you get a bunch of really nice people asking you some really important questions and sharing their perspective so that you can think bigger than maybe you’re even imagining.”

Next Pitch Party: May 26th in Asheville.
Come for the pitches, stay for the connections.

Asheville’s startup community has a home and it’s Hatch Pitch Parties.

Hatch Pitch Party. May 26th, 6:00 - 8:30 PM.
Hatch Event Space, 45 S French Broad Ave, Asheville.
Free and open to all.
Arrive early at 5:15 PM for mentor prep.

We sat down with Jay Mixter, the host, to find out what actually happens in the room.

“You basically have one to two minutes to pitch, and then you get five minutes of audience Q&A. Which is really good because it just focuses on what’s essential.”

And the connections that come out of it?

“It’s somewhere between three and four people per pitch from the audience that say ‘I’d like to get together afterwards.’ And that doesn’t track all the connections that are made in networking before and afterwards.”

And what does Jay walk away thinking about after every event?

“Anytime somebody says ‘I made new connections,’ or ‘I have new ways to think about my business,’ or ‘I have a clearer idea of what I should do next.’ To me that’s the magic.”

Next Pitch Party: May 26th in Asheville.
Come for the pitches, stay for the connections.

Come out and see what Asheville’s startup community is building.

Hatch Pitch Party. May 26th, 6:00 - 8:30 PM.
Hatch Event Space, 45 S French Broad Ave, Asheville.
Free and open to all.
Arrive early at 5:15 PM for mentor prep.

We sat down with Jay Mixter, the host, to find out what these events are really about.

“I like to think of it as kind of an open mic for entrepreneurs. You basically have one to two minutes to pitch, and then you get five minutes of audience Q&A.”

Jay has hosted dozens of these events and knows what holds people back. His take on nerves?

“How many people in this audience have spent as much time as you thinking about that? None of them. And they’re here to hear from you.”
And his advice to anyone on the fence?
“You cannot pitch early enough or often enough. You don’t know what feedback you’re gonna get. You don’t know what connection might come out of that.”

Whether you’re pitching or just showing up to see what’s happening, this is the room to be in.

Next Pitch Party: May 26th in Asheville.
Come pitch your idea or come watch others build theirs.

🚀 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁, 𝘄𝗲 𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗳𝗳 𝗛𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀!

Ideas were pitched.
Votes were cast.
And the room came alive with possibility.

From a full lineup of pitches, we narrowed it down to 7 semifinalist teams, each stepping forward to build something real this weekend.

The rest of the night shifted into collaboration, as teams formed around each idea, bringing together the skills needed to move things forward.

Today, mentors step in, guiding, challenging, and helping shape what comes next.

As the weekend unfolds, 7 teams become 3 finalists, building working business prototypes before taking the stage Sunday night.

🏆 One team will walk away with the win and a share of the prize package.
And you can be there for it.
