Our Jam Canning Class at the Community Center on June 12th was a great success! The kitchen was full!

Led by N.C. Cooperative Extension Agent Cathy Hohenstein, the group made strawberry and strawberry-blueberry jam (yum!). We enjoyed samples of the jams over biscuits and everyone left with 1- 2 jars of jam they made.

We are planning another canning class on August 22nd - maybe tomatoes? The sign up for this event will come out soon, as it will fill up quickly. And watch for another in the fall! This event is for new and experienced canners alike - lots of ideas are shared.

And don't forget to come help us tend our beautiful Garden at the Community Center on Thursday evenings. Those that help can take home produce from the garden. We may use the tomatoes we are growing there for a canning class.
