Meetings include a guest speaker program and then time for socialization. Our programs are about gems, minerals, and more. Guest speakers include professional geologists, mineralogists, gemologists, mining specialists, and knowledgeable rockhounds. Visitors and guests of all ages are always welcome.

This weekend is the Fall MAGMA gem show. Several of our members set up at these shows. It would be great to see you there. Come out and support your local gem sellers.

SAMS club has the opportunity again to host the raffle. But we need volunteers to man the table, sell raffle tickets and talk up the club. We could use some rock donations for the raffle if you have any extra. This is a good way for SAMS to raise some extra money and maybe get some new members. WE REALLY NEED SOME MORE MEMBERS!

Shifts we need covered:
Friday 9-1 and 1-6
Saturday 9-1 and 1-6
Sunday is covered

Happy August Y'all! Hope the heat hasn't taken it out of you.

There is no regular meeting in September.

But we do have a picnic/meetup on Sunday September 7th. It's at Lake Julian in Shelter # 6. From 1 till 4ish, depending how long folks want to hang out.

The club will be providing sliced meat, cheese, bread, lemonade and sweet tea. Please bring a side to share. If you can RSVP, that would help with knowing how much food we need to have, but it is not a requirement to come.

There will be a silent auction. If you have any rocks or minerals that you would like to donate to the club, please bring them and we will put them in the auction.

I look forward to getting a chance to hang out with you all and learn about how you summer was.
